Toyota is recalling more than 140,000 Lexus vehicles, according to a notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall for the Lexus vehicles is due to a fault in the vehicle’s rearview camera, which the notice says could not “display when the vehicle is placed in reverse.” According to the NHTSA, the recall affects an estimated 144,200 total vehicles.

“A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash,” the recall notice continued.

Owners of impacted models are expected to receive notification letters on May 3, according to the notice. Impacted vehicles will receive an update or rearview camera replacement from dealers free of charge.

How to Search for Car Recalls

Car owners can search NHTSA’s database for recalls based on their vehicle’s identification number, or VIN.

USA TODAY’s recall database also includes information on car, food, drug and other product recalls.

What Lexus Vehicles Are Affected by the Recall?

According to the notice, the following Lexus vehicles are included in the recall:

2022-2025 Lexus NX350
2022-2025 Lexus NX250
2023-2026 RX350
2024-2026 TX350

The recall from Toyota comes only days after the same automaker announced that more than 550,000 cars were being recalled due to a seatback defect that could increase the risk of injury.

The March 5 recall notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the “second-row seat backs may fail to lock into position during seat back adjustment.”

The agency noted that the issue could lead to an occupant not being properly restrained in a high-speed collision scenario.
