The Weekly Notable Startup Funding Report takes us on a trip across various ecosystems in the US, highlighting some of the notable funding activity in the various markets that we track. The notable startup funding rounds for the week ending 2/7/25 featuring funding details for EnFi, Midi Health, Derapi, and twenty-eight other deals representing $19.6B (not a typo) in new funding that you need to know about.

Positron – $230.0M

Reno-based Positron is an AI infrastructure company that designs and supplies purpose-built hardware and software systems for transformer-based models. Founded by Barrett Woodside and Thomas Sohmers in 2023, Positron has now raised a total of $305.1M in total equity funding and is backed by 1517 Fund, ARENA Private Wealth, Arm Holdings, Atreides Management, DFJ Growth, Flume Ventures, Helena, Jump Trading, Qatar Investment Authority, Resilience Reserve, Unless, and Valor Equity Partners.

Cerebras Systems – $1.0B

Sunnyvale-based Cerebras Systems is an AI computing system company that provides deep learning applications, super computing, and cloud services. Founded by Andrew Feldman, Gary Lauterbach, Jean-Philippe Fricker, Michael James, and Sean Lie in 2015, Cerebras Systems has now raised a total of $2.8B in total equity funding and is backed by 1789 Capital, Alpha Wave Global, Altimeter Capital, AMD, Atreides Management, Benchmark, Coatue, Fidelity, and Tiger Global Management.

Arbor – $6.3M

New York-based Arbor is a real-time, integrated DEI analytics, reporting, and benchmarking for enterprises and portfolios. Founded by Kelly Zhou in 2022, Arbor has now raised a total of $6.3M in total equity funding and is backed by 645 Ventures, Chaac Ventures, Comma Capital, and Next Play Ventures.

Avalanche Energy – $29.0M

Seattle-based Avalanche Energy is a fusion energy startup that develops micro-fusion reactors for distributed energy and mobility. Founded by Brian Riordan and Robin Langtry in 2018, Avalanche Energy has now raised a total of $74.0M in total equity funding and is backed by 8090 Industries, Congruent Ventures, Founders Fund, Lowercarbon Capital, Overlay Capital, RA Capital Management, and Toyota Ventures.

Overland AI – $80.0M

Seattle-based Overland AI develops autonomous ground vehicle technology for tactical and operational applications. Founded by Byron Boots, Greg Okopal, and Stephanie Bonk in 2022, Overland AI has now raised a total of $122.0M in total equity funding and is backed by 8VC, Ascend, Overmatch Ventures, Point72 Ventures, Shasta Ventures, StepStone Group, and Valor Equity Partners.

GenLogs – $60.0M

Arlington-based GenLogs is a freight intelligence company that offers truck carrier mapping services via AI-driven roadside sensors. Founded by Blake Balch, Joe Sherman, and Ryan Joyce in 2023, GenLogs has now raised a total of $84.1M in total equity funding and is backed by 9Yards Capital, Autotech Ventures, Battery Ventures, Cathay Innovation, HOF Capital, IVP, Steel Atlas, TitletownTech, and Venrock.

Midi Health – $100.0M

Los Angeles-based Midi Health provides virtual care for women in midlife, offering clinician support for menopause, hormonal health, and related conditions. Founded by Jill Herzig, Joanna Strober, Kathleen Jordan, and Sharon Meers in 2021, Midi Health has now raised a total of $252.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Advance Venture Partners, Emerson Collective, Felicis, Foresite Capital, Goodwater Capital, Google Ventures, McKesson Ventures, SemperVirens Venture Capital, and Serena Ventures.

Chamber Cardio – $60.0M

Washington-based Chamber Cardio is a healthcare platform enhances cardiovascular health services. Founded by George M. Aloth, Jeff De Flavio, and Sameer Sheth in 2022, Chamber Cardio has now raised a total of $68.0M in total equity funding and is backed by AlleyCorp, American Family Ventures, Black Opal Ventures, Company Ventures, Frist Cressey Ventures, General Catalyst, Healthworx, and Optum Ventures.

Waymo – $16.0B

Mountain View-based Waymo is a mobility technology company that improves transportation by developing self-driving solutions for travelers and daily commuters. Founded by Anthony Levandowski and Sebastian Thrun in 2009, Waymo has now raised a total of $27.1B in total equity funding and is backed by Alphabet, Andreessen Horowitz, BDT & MSD Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, CapitalG, Dragoneer Investment Group, DST Global, Fidelity, Google Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Mubadala Capital, Perry Creek Capital, Sequoia Capital, Silver Lake, Temasek Holdings, Tiger Global Management, and T. Rowe Price.

Osmo – $70.0M

New York-based Osmo gives computers a sense of smell that improves the health and wellbeing of human life. Founded by Alex Wiltschko and Andy Palmer in 2023, Osmo has now raised a total of $130.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Alumni Ventures, Amplo, Atreides Management, Collaborative Fund, Lumina Partners, Patrick Collison, Two Sigma Ventures, and Valor Equity Partners.

TRM Labs – $70.0M

San Francisco-based TRM Labs is a software company that offers blockchain, transaction monitoring, and analytics to help financial institutions and governments. Founded by Esteban Castano and Rahul Raina in 2018, TRM Labs has now raised a total of $219.9M in total equity funding and is backed by Alumni Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, BH Digital, Blockchain Capital, Citi Ventures, CMT Digital, DRW Venture Capital, Galaxy Digital, Goldman Sachs, Thoma Bravo, and Y Combinator.

RAPIDFORT – $42.0M

Sunnyvale-based RapidFort provides software supply chain security solutions for identifying and reducing vulnerabilities in containerized applications. Founded by George Manuelian, Mehran Farimani, Rajeev Thakur, and Russell Andersson in 2020, RAPIDFORT has now raised a total of $52.8M in total equity funding and is backed by Alumni Ventures, Blue Cloud Ventures, Boulder Ventures, Brave Capital, Evolution Venture Partners, Felicis, Florida Funders, Forgepoint Capital, Gaingels, and Mana Ventures.

Synthpop – $15.0M

Brooklyn-based Synthpop streamlines operations through AI-powered solutions that automate administrative tasks for healthcare providers. Founded by Elad Ferber and Jan Jannink in 2023, Synthpop has now raised a total of $23.2M in total equity funding and is backed by Ansa Capital, Bruce D. Broussard, Defy.vc, Peterson Ventures, and Storm Ventures.

Fundamental – $225.0M

San Francisco-based Fundamental is an AI research company that focuses on overcoming the fundamental challenges of machine learning. Founded by Gabriel Suissa and Jeremy Fraenkel in 2024, Fundamental has now raised a total of $255.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Aravind Srinivas, Assaf Rappaport, Battery Ventures, Henrique Dubugras, Hetz Ventures, Oak HC/FT, Olivier Pomel, QP Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Valor Equity Partners.

El Segundo-based Skyryse is a manufacturing firm that offers aerospace hardware and software operating systems and components design, production, and sales. Founded by Mark Groden and Mitch Adler in 2016, Skyryse has now raised a total of $531.0M in total equity funding and is backed by ArrowMark Partners, Atreides Management, Autopilot Ventures, BAM Elevate, Baron Capital, Durable Capital Partners, Fidelity, Positive Sum, Qatar Investment Authority, Rokos Capital Management, and Woodline Partners.

Derapi – $7.0M

San Francisco-based Derapi is the universal, enterprise-grade API for distributed energy resource (DER) devices. Lunar Energy – $102.0M

Mountain View-based Lunar Energy powers homes around the world with endless clean energy. Founded by Kunal Girotra in 2020, Lunar Energy has now raised a total of $532.0M in total equity funding and is backed by B Capital, DCVC, ITOCHU Corporation, Leitmotif, Piva Capital, Prelude Ventures, Q Capital Partners, and Sunrun.

Goodfire – $150.0M

San Francisco-based Goodfire is an AI research lab using interpretability to turn AI into something that can be understood, debugged, and shaped like software Founded by Dan Balsam, Eric Ho, and Tom McGrath in 2024, Goodfire has now raised a total of $207.0M in total equity funding and is backed by B Capital, DFJ Growth, Eric Schmidt, Juniper Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, South Park Commons, and Wing Venture Capital.

Machina Labs – $124.0M

Chatsworth-based Machina Labs is a mechanical and industrial engineering and manufacturing company that automates metal forming and fabrication processes. Founded by Babak Raeisinia and Edward Mehr in 2019, Machina Labs has now raised a total of $172.3M in total equity funding and is backed by Balerion Space Ventures, Lockheed Martin Ventures, Strategic Development Fund, and Woven Capital.

EnFi – $15.0M

Boston-based EnFi accelerate complex credit analysis and risk monitoring services. Founded by Joshua Summers and Scott Weller in 2023, EnFi has now raised a total of $22.5M in total equity funding and is backed by Boston Seed Capital, Commerce Ventures, FINTOP Capital, Patriot Financial Partners, and Unusual Ventures.

Forerunner – $26.3M

San Francisco-based Forerunner is an AI-powered geospatial platform that assists governments in updating their operations and enhancing community resilience. Founded by JT White and Susanna Pho in 2018, Forerunner has now raised a total of $40.5M in total equity funding and is backed by Citi Impact Fund, SE Ventures, and Wellington Management.

Varo Bank – $123.9M

San Francisco-based Varo is a digital bank that offers innovative, premium banking services wrapped in inclusive design. Founded by Assaf Guery, Colin Walsh, Mykola Klymenko, and Roger Van Duinen in 2015, Varo Bank has now raised a total of $1.2B in total equity funding and is backed by Coliseum Capital Management, Northview LifeSciences, and Warburg Pincus.

Beverly Hills-based Accrual is an AI-driven accounting platform that streamlines and unifies tax preparation and financial workflows for accounting firms. Founded by Cosmin Nicolaescu and Siddarth Chandrasekaran in 2024, Accrual has now raised a total of $91.4M in total equity funding and is backed by Edward Jones Ventures, General Catalyst, Go Global Ventures, and PruVen Capital.

Alaffia Health – $55.0M

New York-based Alaffia Health offers an AI platform that supports health plan claims operations by automating and improving clinical review workflows. Founded by Adun Akanni and TJ Ademiluyi in 2020, Alaffia Health has now raised a total of $71.6M in total equity funding and is backed by FirstMark, Tau Ventures, Transformation Capital, and Twine Ventures.

Tomorrow.io – $175.0M

Boston-based Tomorrow.io is a weather technology company offering real-time forecasting services to predict and respond to climate-related threats. Founded by Itai Zlotnik, Rei Goffer, and Shimon Elkabetz in 2016, Tomorrow.io has now raised a total of $433.9M in total equity funding and is backed by HarbourVest Partners, Square Peg Capital, and Stonecourt Capital.

ORION Security – $32.0M

New York-based ORION is a cybersecurity company that prevents data loss by replacing policy-based enforcement with real-time contextual intelligence. Founded by Jonathan Kreiner and Nitay Milner in 2025, ORION Security has now raised a total of $38.0M in total equity funding and is backed by IBM, LAMA Partners (fka FXP), Norwest, PICO Venture Partners, and XT Venture Capital. Kindred – $85.0M

San Francisco-based Kindred operates a members-only platform that enables verified homeowners and renters to exchange homes without nightly rental fees. Founded by Justine Palefsky and Tasneem Amina in 2021, Kindred has now raised a total of $147.8M in total equity funding and is backed by Index Ventures.
