Amsterdam-based Fairphone, the ethical smartphone maker, announced its expansion into the United States.

The move comes as new sales data for 2024 and 2025 is released, showing Fairphone’s strong performance and commitment to responsible design and sustainable growth.

Fairphone will debut in the United States with its popular, self-repairable and modular Fairbuds XL, over-ear headphones, and will be available through Amazon starting later in November 2025.

Raymond van Eck, CEO at Fairphone, states, “Launching in the United States is a defining moment for Fairphone. It shows how far we have come as a company and as a movement for better technology. The strong momentum we see in Europe and beyond confirms that our model works both ethically and commercially. We are entering this new market with confidence, showing that technology built to last and made fairly can also deliver outstanding performance and design. Our expansion comes at a time when the world is increasingly ready for a new kind of electronics industry, one built on transparency, repairability, and care for people and the planet.”

The US launch comes at a time when many American consumers and lawmakers are interested in repairable electronics and sustainability.

By early 2025, right-to-repair bills have been introduced in all 50 states, with at least 35 states currently discussing them.

Fairphone is entering the market as people seek products that are built to last and made responsibly.

Fairphone: 61% growth in revenue

The US expansion comes after strong results in the third quarter of 2025. The company saw a 61 per cent increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2024, with growth in all product categories.

Fairphone devices grew by 61 per cent thanks to the launch of the Fairphone (Gen. 6), the world’s most sustainable and modular phone.

Accessory sales increased by 95 per cent, spare parts by 41 per cent, and audio products by 40 per cent.

Regionally, the UK saw a 48 per cent revenue increase, while the Netherlands had the highest growth at 96 per cent, followed by France at 87 per cent and Germany at 42 per cent.

The Dutch company recently announced its financial results for 2024, showing improved profitability and efficiency.

It reported a positive EBITDA of 1.7 million euros, with a 36 per cent increase in gross profit and better cash flow.

Fairphone sold over one hundred thousand units in 2024, mainly due to the Fairphone 5 and Fairbuds audio products.

The Fairbuds XL will be available through Amazon in the United States starting later in November 2025. With a RRP of $229.99
