Cohen & Company Q4 2025 Earnings Results

Revenue was driven primarily by:

Investment banking and new issue activity: $54.7 million

Principal transactions and other revenue: $31.5 million

Net trading revenue: $13.8 million

Asset management revenue: $2.7 million.

The large increase reflects stronger deal activity and growth in the firm’s boutique investment banking platform.

Earnings return to profitability

Cohen & Company delivered solid profitability during the quarter:

The improvement highlights stronger operating leverage as revenue growth outpaced expenses.

Full Year FY2025 performance

For the full year 2025, Cohen & Company reported substantial growth:

Total revenue: $275.6 million, up sharply from $79.6 million in 2024.

Net income attributable to Cohen & Company: $14.4 million

Diluted EPS: $4.35 per share.

Adjusted results also improved significantly:

Management noted that adjusted pre-tax income represented about 15% of total revenue, reflecting improved profitability in the capital markets segment.

Operating expenses increased alongside higher revenue.

The increase primarily reflects higher compensation tied to revenue growth and expanded investment banking operations.

Cohen & Company operates across three core segments:

Capital Markets – investment banking and securities trading

Asset Management – structured credit and specialty investment funds

Principal Investing – investments in structured finance and emerging sectors.

Management said growth during 2025 was driven by the expansion of its full-service boutique investment bank, Cohen & Company Capital Markets (CCM).

The firm also increased its focus on sectors such as:

Digital assets and blockchain

Energy transition and natural resources

Space technology and communications infrastructure.

Dividend announcement

The board announced shareholder returns alongside the earnings release:

These distributions reflect strong cash generation and profitability during the year.

CEO Lester Brafman said the company delivered strong results due to the continued expansion of its client franchise and capital markets platform.
