Union Pacific’s Q1 2026 Earnings: What to Expect

Valued at a market cap of $144 billion, Union Pacific Corporation (UNP) is a railroad company that offers transportation services. The Omaha, Nebraska-based company transports a diverse range of freight, including agricultural products, chemicals, energy commodities, industrial goods, and intermodal containers. It is expected to announce its fiscal Q1 earnings for 2026 before the market opens on Thursday, Apr. 23.

Before this event, analysts expect this railroad company to report a profit of $2.85 per share, up 5.6% from $2.70 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has topped Wall Street’s bottom-line estimates in two of the last four quarters, while missing on two other occasions. Additionally, its adjusted EPS of $2.86 missed consensus estimates of $2.90.

Wall Street analysts are moderately optimistic about UNP’s stock, with a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Among 24 analysts covering the stock, 16 recommend “Strong Buy,” one indicates a “Moderate Buy,” and seven suggest “Hold.” The mean price target for UNP is $276.14, indicating a 13.2% potential upside from the current levels.
