GPT-5.6 is now live in Clio Work and Vincent

Every model upgrade has to earn its place by improving the work customers receive, and GPT-5.6 did exactly that. Starting today, GPT-5.6 is available in Clio Work and Vincent. 

In Clio’s legal-research evaluations, Vincent with GPT-5.6 scored 6% higher for completed-answer quality than with GPT-5.5. It also identified 6% more of the authorities our legal experts expected to find during research. For customers, that means a stronger first answer and a broader research process.

We evaluated representative legal-research tasks using expert-defined criteria for the completed answer and the authorities identified during research. These measures capture two distinct parts of the work: the quality of the answer Vincent delivers and its ability to find the legal authorities our experts expected to see along the way.

The results point to a more complete first pass. GPT-5.6 helps Vincent answer the legal question more effectively while surfacing more of the expected authorities during the research process. Lawyers begin with stronger work to review, verify, and develop further.

Legal research improvements

In our transactional client-matter evaluation, GPT-5.6 also used 3% fewer model tokens while delivering broadly comparable overall performance.
