These delicious breakfast sandwich recipes turn simple ingredients into a satisfying, budget-friendly meal everyone will love.

This post is part of our $10 Dinner Ideas series, brought to you by Brigette on our team! Each week, she will be sharing easy, delicious, and affordable family-friendly dinner ideas that cost less than $10 to make, use everyday ingredients, and are super quick meals.

Why You’ll Love These Breakfast Sandwiches

I can’t even call this a “recipe” — it’s just a throw-together dinner inspired by a breakfast that my whole family loves! It’s versatile and can easily be adapted depending on what bread you can find on the clearance cart at the back of your local Walmart!  I’ve used bagels, ciabatta, rolls, and English muffins, and they all taste great!

Tonight I served the sandwiches with grapefruit and green beans, but again, the side possibilities are endless. This entire meal, including sides, can be finished in less than 30 minutes, making this a standby dinner at our house.

Breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and melted cheese on a toasted ciabatta roll served on a blue plate. Sides include a halved grapefruit and a small portion of green beans.

Breakfast Sandwiches Dinner Menu:

Breakfast Sandwiches

Grapefruit

Green Beans

Ingredients laid out on a wooden surface include a pack of bacon, six eggs, three grapefruits, two cans of cut green beans, a stick of butter, a package of sharp cheddar cheese slices, and a bag of ciabatta sandwich rolls.

Ingredients for Breakfast Sandwiches:

6 ciabatta rolls (or bagels, or other bread) (Walmart reduced cart – $1 for 1 bag of 12) — $0.50

4 Tablespoons butter (Aldi – $3.39 for 1lb)— $0.42

1 package bacon (Aldi – $4.49 for 1lb)— $2.99

6-oz sliced cheese (Aldi – $1.49 for 8 oz.) — $1.12

6 eggs (Aldi – $1.96 for 1 dozen) — $0.98

3 grapefruit (Aldi – $3.99 for 5lbs) — $1

2 cans green beans (Aldi – $0.50 for 1 can) — $1

salt and pepper to taste

Total for entire dinner (Serves 6): $8.01

How to Make Homemade Breakfast Sandwiches:

1. Fry the bacon in an electric skillet until done. Put the cooked bacon on paper towels to drain the grease.

Several strips of bacon are sizzling and partially cooked on a well-used metal baking sheet.
Crispy cooked bacon strips are laid out on a paper towel.

2. In the same skillet, add the eggs and fry them in the leftover bacon grease until they are cooked as much as you prefer them. Remove from the skillet to a paper towel.

Six sunny-side-up eggs are frying on a greased metal skillet.
Cooked fried eggs are laid out on a paper towel to drain, seasoned with black pepper.

3. Slice the ciabatta in half and butter each half. Place on a cookie sheet and broil in the oven until lightly browned. As soon as you take the rolls out of the oven, put cheese slices on half of the hot rolls (you can also add the cheese slices the last minute or so of broiling).

Halved ciabatta rolls are arranged on a baking sheet with the cut sides facing up, each spread with a layer of butter.

4. Prep whatever sides you are serving with the sandwiches.

A plate of halved grapefruits is arranged in a circular pattern on a decorative dish. In the background, fried eggs and crispy bacon rest on paper towels on a dark wooden table.

5. Assemble into sandwiches and serve immediately!

Breakfast sandwiches made with ciabatta rolls, crispy bacon, fried eggs, and melted cheese are arranged on a white platter.
