By Herzog Law Firm

We are pleased to announce that Phillip K. Vacchio, Esq., a principal attorney at Herzog Law Firm, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of The Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs.

Phillip’s practice centers on elder law, including estate planning and administration,  Medicaid planning for long-term care, asset protection, guardianship, and special needs advocacy. He serves clients out of the firm’s Albany, Saratoga Springs, Queensbury, and Kingston offices. Phillip joined Herzog in 2023 and became a principal in 2025, and a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, he has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star seven years running.

A Career Dedicated to Aging Individuals and Their Families

Phillip has built his career around protecting older adults, their finances, their rights, and their ability to live with dignity and on their own terms. He came to the Capital Region after years as a partner at a Long Island firm, where he practiced in these same areas before bringing that experience north.

The Wesley appointment also continues a record of community service. Phillip already serves on the board of LifePath, the Albany nonprofit behind Meals on Wheels, adult day programs, and insurance counseling for area seniors. He is a frequent speaker at senior centers, care facilities, and community nonprofits as well, a commitment that reflects his belief that the right guidance, shared in the right setting, can meaningfully change how people experience aging.

“I am honored to join the Board of Directors of The Wesley Community and to share my legal expertise and passion for elder care,” said Phillip. “Navigating the legal complexities of aging is not an easy undertaking for seniors and their families. I look forward to contributing to Wesley, an organization that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of its senior residents every day.”

A Welcome From The Wesley Community

Wesley’s leadership pointed to the depth of experience Phillip brings to the role.

“We are pleased to welcome Phillip to The Wesley Community Board of Directors,” said J. Brian Nealon, CEO of The Wesley Community. “His expansive legal expertise with long-term care, Medicaid strategy, guardianship and special needs advocacy, and his background guiding thousands of families through emotionally and financially complex long-term care decisions, will be great assets to our community.”

Trusted Elder Law and Estate Planning in the Capital Region

Phillip’s appointment reflects what matters most to us at Herzog Law Firm: standing by families as they navigate aging, long-term care, and the responsibility of passing on what they have spent a lifetime building. Our attorneys work with clients across the Capital Region and throughout New York State on estate planning, Medicaid and long-term care planning, estate administration, guardianship, and special needs planning.

If you or a loved one could use guidance with elder law or estate planning, contact Herzog Law Firm to schedule a consultation. You can also read more about Phillip K. Vacchio and the rest of our team.

This announcement is based on a press release from The Wesley Community, as reported by The Post-Star.
