Chicken Alfredo Pizza Recipe ( Family Dinner Idea)
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LInkedIn

Tonight’s $10 Family Dinner Idea was inspired by leftovers, haha! I served a Build-Your-Own-Pasta Bar to company a few nights ago, and ended up with leftover grilled chicken and Alfredo sauce. I also had some ham (deli meat) that was sitting in the fridge and wasn’t getting used up, so I combined all of them to make this Chicken Alfredo Pizza.

And guess what? My family suddenly gobbled it down, because it was no longer leftovers!

You could definitely use bacon instead of the ham (I used ham because mine needed to be used up), and add whatever additional toppings you love.

This post is part of our $10 Dinner Ideas series, brought to you by Brigette on our team! Each week, she shares easy, delicious, and affordable family-friendly dinner ideas that cost less than $10 to make, use everyday ingredients, and are super quick meals.

If you are super short on time, you can always use store-bought pizza dough or a premade crust. But if you have 10 extra minutes, you have time to make Crystal’s super easy pizza dough from scratch (I highly recommend making a couple of batches of it to have on hand in your freezer!).

Homemade pizza can be such a filling, frugal, family-approved meal. In fact, I’m pretty sure you’ll be seeing more pizza recipes featured in these $10 Dinner Posts in the future!

Ingredients for chicken alfredo pizza arranged on a table including shredded mozzarella cheese, diced chicken, chopped ham, red onion, flour, sugar, yeast, olive oil, salt, and Alfredo sauce.

Ingredients for Chicken Alfredo Pizza:

2 cups warm water

2 Tablespoons active dry yeast (Sams – $6.88 for 2 lbs) — $0.16

2 teaspoons sugar

2 teaspoons salt

4 Tablespoons olive oil (Aldi – $7.25 for 33 tablespoons) — $0.88

5 cups flour (Harris Teeter — $1.99 for 5lbs) — $0.50

1 – 1½ cups Alfredo sauce (Aldi – $1.69 for 1 jar) — $0.85

1 16-ounce bag shredded mozzarella cheese (4 cups) (Aldi) — $3.29

1/2 red onion, sliced (Aldi) — $0.15

2-3 cups diced cooked chicken (Aldi – $2.49/lb) — $2.49

½ – 1 cup diced ham (I used deli meat – a few slices of crumbled cooked bacon would also be amazing!) (Aldi – $4.29 for 16oz) — $1

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (Aldi — $2.99 for 16-oz) — $0.37

Total for Dinner: $9.69 (Makes 2 large pizzas)

Sliced chicken alfredo pizza arranged on a wooden board with melted cheese, bacon, chicken, and green onions visible on each slice.

How to Make Chicken Alfredo Pizza:

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Follow the directions here (or below) for making Crystal’s Homemade Pizza Dough recipe.

Ball of fresh pizza dough resting on a dark countertop with a soft textured surface. The dough is prepared and ready to be rolled out for a chicken alfredo pizza.

2. Divide dough in half and roll to fit two greased pizza pans.

Flattened pizza dough spread across a round metal tray with a slightly raised edge forming the crust. The smooth surface is ready for sauce and toppings.

3. Spread preferred amount of alfredo sauce over crust (approximately 1/2 to 3/4 cup of sauce per crust) and top with toppings (shredded cheese, diced cooked chicken and ham, sliced onion, and parmesan cheese).

Two uncooked chicken alfredo pizzas on metal trays covered with shredded cheese, chicken, ham, and red onion slices.
Unbaked chicken alfredo pizza topped with shredded mozzarella, sliced red onions, diced ham, and chunks of chicken over a creamy white sauce.

4. Bake at 500 degrees for around 10 minutes.

This $10 family dinner was inspired by leftovers but quickly became a family favorite! You'll love how easy, quick, and frugal it is! (By the way, if you have a few minutes to spare, I highly recommend you make easy pizza dough with this recipe, but if not, you can always buy the dough or crust.)
