The Weekly Notable Startup Funding Report takes us on a trip across various ecosystems in the US, highlighting some of the notable funding activity in the various markets that we track. The notable startup funding rounds for the week ending 2/28/26 featuring funding details for Braincheck, Harper, UpGuard, and twenty-five other deals representing $1.6B in new funding that you need to know about.

Avisi Technologies – $10.8M

Redwood City-based Avisi Technologies develops nanotechnology-based ophthalmic devices to address vision loss from glaucoma and related eye conditions. Founded by Adarsh Battu, Brandon Kao, and Rui Jing Jiang in 2017, Avisi Technologies has now raised a total of $18.7M in total equity funding and is backed by Accanto Partners, Gemseki, Golden Seeds, Good Growth Capital, Life Sciences Greenhouse of Pennsylvania, MedVenture Partners, OneOneFive, Quaker Capital Investments, LLC, SBI US Gateway Fund, and Sherpa Healthcare Partners.

Gushwork – $9.0M

Lewes-based Gushwork is an AI marketing platform that automates content creation and backlink building to generate qualified inbound leads. Founded by Adithya Venkatesh and Nayrhit Bhattacharya in 2023, Gushwork has now raised a total of $13.1M in total equity funding and is backed by 2Point2 Capital, B Capital, BEENEXT, Lightspeed India Partners, Seaborne Capital., Sparrow Capital, and Susquehanna Venture Capital.

Potpie AI – $2.2M

Granite Bay-based Potpie AI creates task-oriented custom agents designed to work with specific codebases. Founded by Aditi Kothari and Dhiren Mathur in 2025, Potpie AI has now raised a total of $2.2M in total equity funding and is backed by All in capital, DeVC, Emergent Ventures, and PointOne Capital.

UpGuard – $75.0M

Mountain View-based UpGuard is a cybersecurity platform that focuses on managing cyber risks across vendor supply chains, attack surfaces, and human workforces. Founded by Alan Sharp-Paul and Mike Baukes in 2012, UpGuard has now raised a total of $122.4M in total equity funding and is backed by August Capital, Pelion Venture Partners, Springcoast Capital Partners, and Square Peg Capital.

Slang – $28.0M

New York-based Slang AI offers a virtual phone agent that operates continuously, answering calls and booking reservations for restaurants. Founded by Alex Sambvani and Gabe Duncan in 2019, Slang has now raised a total of $48.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Active Capital, Claire Hughes Johnson, Collide Capital, Homebrew, Stage 2 Capital, Thayer Investment Partners, Underscore VC, U.S. Venture Partners, and Wing Venture Capital.

Letter AI – $40.0M

Chicago-based Letter AI is a generative AI powered revenue enablement platform, aiming to help revenue teams enhance productivity and performance. Founded by Ali Akhtar and Armen Forget in 2023, Letter AI has now raised a total of $55.1M in total equity funding and is backed by Battery Ventures, Formus Capital, Lightbank, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, Stage 2 Capital, and Y Combinator.

Astelia – $25.0M

New York-based Astelia is an AI-native exposure management tool that allows enterprises to concentrate on vulnerabilities that are actually exploitable. Founded by Alon Noy, Nadav Ostrovsky, and Roy Rajwan in 2024, Astelia has now raised a total of $35.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Holly Ventures, Index Ventures, and Team8.

Founded by Alvaro Silberstein, Camilo Navarro Bustos, and Federico Carossino in 2017, Wheel the World has now raised a total of $21.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Enable Ventures, Erik Blachford, Fondo Vulcano, Gillian Tans, ImpactVC, Kayyak Ventures, Miles Partnership, Samaritan Partners, and WeBoost.

Sherpas – $3.2M

San Francisco-based Sherpas is a provider of an AI-native infrastructure platform for financial advisors and wealth management firms. Founded by Borja Edo and Francisco Micó in 2023, Sherpas has now raised a total of $3.8M in total equity funding and is backed by 1248 Holdings, AUA Capital Management, and GoHub Ventures.

Aalyria – $100.0M

Livermore-based Aalyria is an advanced aerospace communications company that provides high-throughput networks for both commercial and government clients. Founded by Brian Barritt and Chris Taylor in 2021, Aalyria has now raised a total of $100.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Battery Ventures, DYNE Ventures., and J2 Ventures.

Whop – $200.0M

Brooklyn-based Whop is a marketplace designed for entrepreneurs, facilitating the buying and selling of communities, courses, and software. Founded by Cameron Zoub, Jack Sharkey, and Steven Schwartz in 2021, Whop has now raised a total of $273.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Tether Ventures.

Harper – $47.0M

San Francisco-based Harper is a commercial E&S insurance brokerage that utilizes an AI-native technology stack to streamline the insurance process. Founded by Dakotah Rice and Tushar Nair in 2024, Harper has now raised a total of $47.5M in total equity funding and is backed by 10x Founders, Antler, Emergence Capital, Fellows Fund, Outset Capital, Peak XV Partners, and Y Combinator.

BrainCheck – $13.0M

Houston-based BrainCheck is a digital platform for cognitive assessment and care that evaluates brain health across clinical and non-clinical settings. Founded by David Eagleman and Yael Katz in 2015, BrainCheck has now raised a total of $52.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Next Coast Ventures, S3 Ventures, and UPMC Enterprises.

Tamarind Bio – $13.6M

San Francisco-based Tamarind Bio is a software company that help the scientists and researchers using computational tools in biology. Founded by Deniz Kavi and Sherry L. in 2024, Tamarind Bio has now raised a total of $13.6M in total equity funding and is backed by Dimension Capital.

Profound – $96.0M

New York-based Profound is an AI visibility and content optimization platform that that helps brands optimize their visibility in generative AI search. Founded by Dylan Babbs and James Cadwallader in 2024, Profound has now raised a total of $154.5M in total equity funding and is backed by Evantic Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Saga Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and South Park Commons.

Union.ai – $19.0M

Bellevue-based Union.ai is a Kubernetes-native workflow orchestration platform for data and machine learning at scale. Founded by George Snelling, Haytham Abuelfutuh, and Ketan Umare in 2020, Union.ai has now raised a total of $48.1M in total equity funding and is backed by Mozilla Ventures, Nava Ventures, and New Enterprise Associates.

Humand – $66.0M

San Francisco-based Humand provides a platform that unifies internal communication and human resources management. Founded by Gero Maspero and Nico Benenzon in 2019, Humand has now raised a total of $66.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Arash Ferdowsi, Goodwater Capital, Guillermo Rauch, Kaszek, Manny Maceda, Marcos Galperin, Martin Varsavsky, Newtopia VC, Rajat Suri, Sebastian Mejia, Vlad Magdalin, and Y Combinator.

Koah Labs – $20.5M

San Francisco-based Koah Labs is an advertising platform that develops AI-native monetization solutions to generate revenue Founded by Herrick Fang, Mike Choi, and Nick Baird in 2024, Koah Labs has now raised a total of $25.5M in total equity funding and is backed by Forerunner, South Park Commons, and Theory Ventures.

Opus – $9.0M

New York-based Opus is a hospitality training platform that helps service staff learn skills, complete training modules, and access performance resources. Founded by Jeffrey Silver, Kai Yen, and Rachael Nemeth in 2018, Opus has now raised a total of $20.3M in total equity funding and is backed by Bow Capital, Metrodora Ventures, NextView Ventures, and Strada.

Dots – $8.9M

San Francisco-based Dots is a multichannel payouts API that automates manual processes for marketplaces. Founded by Kartikye Mittal and Sahil Hasan in 2021, Dots has now raised a total of $14.8M in total equity funding and is backed by DCM Ventures and Y Combinator.

Ubicquia – $106.0M

Fort Lauderdale-based Ubicquia provides smart streetlighting systems that enhance urban infrastructure through advanced technology and data-driven insights. Founded by Lowell Kraff and Tre Zimmerman in 2014, Ubicquia has now raised a total of $237.9M in total equity funding and is backed by 67 Capital, ClearSky, Global Message Services, Hamilton Lane, Marunouchi Innovation Partners, and SerComm.

Founded by Menachem Salinas and Uriel Knorovich in 2021, Nimble Way has now raised a total of $47.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Databricks, Hetz Ventures, InvestInData, J-Ventures, Norwest, R-Squared Ventures, Slow Ventures, Square Peg Capital, and Target Global.

MatX – $500.0M

Mountain View-based MatX is an AI semiconductor company that designs custom chips and hardware architectures to support large language models. Founded by Mike Gunter and Reiner Pope in 2022, MatX has now raised a total of $625.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Alchip, Andrej Karpathy, Dwarkesh Patel, Harpoon, Jane Street Capital, John Collison, Marvell, NFDG Ventures, Patrick Collison, Situational Awareness, Spark Capital, and Triatomic Capital.

Chariot Defense – $34.0M

South San Francisco-based Chariot Defense is creating the advanced hardware and software framework to solve it. Founded by Adam Warmoth in 2024, Chariot Defense has now raised a total of $42.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, DCVC, Ensemble VC, General Catalyst, LMNT Ventures, Marlinspike Capital, Overmatch Ventures, Shield Capital, Trenches Capital, and XYZ Venture Capital.

Sensera Systems – $27.0M

Golden-based Sensera Systems provides solar-powered wireless cameras and software for remote jobsite monitoring and visual data management. Founded by David Gaw in 2013, Sensera Systems has now raised a total of $27.0M in total equity funding and is backed by 10 Atlantic Group, Egis Capital Partners, and MUUS.

FirmPilot – $22.0M

Miami-based FirmPilot develops an AI-driven marketing engine designed for law firms. Founded by Jake Soffer in 2023, FirmPilot has now raised a total of $31.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Blumberg Capital, Data Point Capital, DeepWork Capital, Early Light Ventures, SaaS Ventures, Thomson Reuters Ventures, and Valor Ventures.

Coral Care – $13.0M

New York-based Coral Care is a pediatric therapy platform that connects families with licensed speech, occupational, and physical therapists. Founded by Jen Wirt in 2023, Coral Care has now raised a total of $19.5M in total equity funding and is backed by AlleyCorp, Charge Ventures, FCA Venture Partners, GreyMatter, Haymaker Ventures, Jefferson River Capital, Mother Ventures, Peterson Ventures, and Reach Capital.
