Amsterdam-based Fairphone, the ethical smartphone maker, announced its expansion into the United States.
The move comes as new sales data for 2024 and 2025 is released, showing Fairphone’s strong performance and commitment to responsible design and sustainable growth.
Fairphone will debut in the United States with its popular, self-repairable and modular Fairbuds XL, over-ear headphones, and will be available through Amazon starting later in November 2025.
Raymond van Eck, CEO at Fairphone, states, “Launching in the United States is a defining moment for Fairphone. It shows how far we have come as a company and as a movement for better technology. The strong momentum we see in Europe and beyond confirms that our model works both ethically and commercially. We are entering this new market with confidence, showing that technology built to last and made fairly can also deliver outstanding performance and design. Our expansion comes at a time when the world is increasingly ready for a new kind of electronics industry, one built on transparency, repairability, and care for people and the planet.”
The US launch comes at a time when many American consumers and lawmakers are interested in repairable electronics and sustainability.
By early 2025, right-to-repair bills have been introduced in all 50 states, with at least 35 states currently discussing them.
Fairphone is entering the market as people seek products that are built to last and made responsibly.
