7 Deeply Oversold Stocks Entering February With Rebound Potential
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LInkedIn

January saw record highs on the stock market, but some stocks plummeted.
How can you tell if a stock has become an attractive opportunity following a sharp decline?
Discover seven US stocks that have been battered recently and could see significant rebounds.

January was a very choppy month for markets. Major indexes hit new record highs, but the gains were uneven. Some stocks surged, while others fell sharply.

Several factors unsettled investors. Geopolitical tensions rose, including strains between the US and Europe over Greenland and unrest in Iran. Earnings reports for the fourth quarter also surprised markets, with wide gaps between winners and losers.

Sharp moves like these can also create opportunities. Prices sometimes overshoot in both directions, and quick, alert investors can take advantage when stocks move too far, too fast.

You can estimate what a stock is really worth by looking at its fundamentals and using valuation models. When a stock falls sharply in a short time, it makes sense to check whether the price has dropped below that fundamental value.

InvestingPro does this through its Fair Value tool. It combines the results of several valuation models, up to 17 of them, to produce a single, clearer estimate for each stock.

This helps investors quickly see whether a stock looks cheap or expensive and understand its potential upside or downside from current levels.

Many InvestingPro users also look at the Health Score alongside Fair Value. The Health Score is built from key financial metrics and comparisons with similar companies, helping assess a company’s financial strength.

In simple terms, a strong opportunity usually combines two things: high upside potential based on InvestingPro Fair Value and an above-average Health Score that signals solid fundamentals.

7 Significantly Undervalued Stocks That Were Battered in January

To put this into practice, we used the Investing.com screener. Specifically, we looked for US stocks that meet the following criteria:

Market capitalization of greater than $1 billion
A drop of more than 20% over one month
Upside potential of more than 20%, according to InvestingPro Fair Value
InvestingPro Health Score greater than 2.5/5

This search identified seven stocks:

More specifically, these stocks have fallen between 20.1% and 24.5% over the past month and now appear undervalued by 33% to 65.3% based on InvestingPro’s Fair Value estimates.

This does not mean these stocks will rise sharply right away. It simply means they may be worth watching closely over the next few weeks to see whether positive price signals emerge.

There are also other ways to find potential opportunities. Investing.com offers preconfigured searches that let users screen for stocks meeting specific criteria with a single click.

These searches cover themes like value, growth, quality, defensive, and others. They help investors of different styles quickly find stocks that match their strategy.
