Galaxy and BNY have expanded their digital asset partnership by integrating institutional staking into BNY’s Digital Asset Custody platform. The collaboration combines custody and staking within one servicing model, while BNY also moves ahead with tokenized fund infrastructure and blockchain-based transfer agency services.
Galaxy and BNY Expand Institutional Digital Asset Services
Galaxy announced a strategic collaboration with BNY to add staking capabilities to the bank’s Digital Asset Custody platform for eligible institutional clients. The offering combines digital asset custody with staking services in a single institutional workflow, while Galaxy also serves as a design partner for BNY’s digital asset platform infrastructure. The new staking service remains subject to regulatory review.
Eligible clients will be able to access staking alongside custody, fund accounting, tax reporting, payments, and client reporting where applicable. The companies said the integrated model is designed to simplify institutional participation in proof-of-stake networks while maintaining the operational controls and asset protections provided through BNY’s custody platform.

BNY Advances Tokenized Fund Infrastructure
The announcement comes as BNY continues to expand its digital asset offerings beyond custody. The bank is launching a digital transfer agency platform that will process fund transactions and maintain shareholder records on-chain while continuing to operate its traditional transfer agency services.
Earlier this year, BNY completed after-hours U.S. Treasury transactions with stablecoin issuers and plans to introduce tokenized U.S. Treasuries before the end of 2026, as previously reported by Bloomberg. The bank also expects to begin pilot transactions on its private blockchain during the year as part of its broader digital asset strategy.
