Arthus Hayes Says ZEC Will Top XRP, Dumps ETH, ENA, Others

BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes predicted Zcash will surpass Ripple’s XRP, while Arkham Intelligence said he’s dumping Ethereum and other cryptos.

In a series of posts on X, Hayes declared “$ZEC > $XRP” and said its chart is “just so stronk I aped more.” His promotion of the crypto comes amid a parabolic rally for the privacy coin despite a broader market slump .

All Hayes Wants For Christmas Is ZEC

In a follow-up X post, Hayes said that all he wants for Christmas is ZEC. 

Zcash is currently the 12th-largest crypto with a market capitalization of $11.014 billion. XRP is ranked fourth with a market cap that exceeds $135.78 billion.

Hayes’s interest in ZEC comes amid a soaring rally for the altcoin in recent weeks. The privacy coin has surged more than 22% in the past week, 217% in the last month and 1,628% in the 12 months.

Despite Hayes’ comments, it’s tumbled 4% in the past 24 hours to trade at $672.77 as of 2:04 a.m. EST, according to CoinMarketCap.

Earlier this week, Hayes predicted that the ZEC/BTC pair will soar to 0.2, from $0.00714 currently, according to TradingView data. If his prediction plays out, ZEC would gain around 2,701% against the leading crypto. 

Recently, Hayes has also urged investors who hold ZEC on centralized exchanges to withdraw their crypto into self-custodial wallets “and shield it.” 

Hayes Dumps Other Cryptos

While Hayes may be bullish on ZEC, the crypto mogul appears to have trimmed many holdings in other digital assets amid the recent market downturn.

In an X post earlier today, on-chain analytics firm Lookonchain, citing data from Arkham Intelligence, said Hayes “is dumping his bags heavily.”

According to the post, Hayes sold 260 ETH worth $820K, 2.4 million ENA valued at $651K, 640K LDO worth $480K, 1,630 AAVE valued at $289K, and 28,670 UNI worth $209K.

ETH, UNI, and AAVE gained 1%, 3%, and 0.5%, respectively in the last 24 hours. Conversely, ENA and LDO dropped over 1% and 0.4%.
