VCA CareClub® Plan review 2026
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LInkedIn

A VCA CareClub® Plan covers a wide range of preventative care services for your dog or cat at VCA Animal Hospitals. The plans can pay for doctor-recommended vaccines, fecal testing, x-rays, and blood pressure checks as well as unlimited wellness, sick, and emergency exams.

VCA CareClub® isn’t pet insurance, so it won’t cover treatment for accidents or unexpected illnesses. Each plan covers predetermined routine care services and includes several optional add-ons. If you’re looking for ways to save money on your pet’s preventative care, a VCA CareClub® Plan could be a good choice.

Doesn’t cover accidents or illnesses

Learn more: Is pet insurance worth it?

VCA CareClub® Plans cover certain routine care services most pets need annually, such as wellness exams and vaccines. Each plan includes a package of covered services and benefits that are valid at VCA Animal Hospital locations.

Because VCA CareClub® Plans aren’t pet insurance policies, they don’t have a deductible, copayment, annual maximum limit, or waiting periods. The monthly cost of your plan covers all the services your plan includes, so you won’t pay anything else out of pocket.

Learn more: How does pet insurance work? A complete guide.

VCA CareClub® Plans don’t require claims, which is another perk. When you visit a VCA Animal Hospital for a covered service, like a sick visit or dental cleaning, the cost is automatically covered. Unlike pet insurance, you don’t have to pay upfront and file a claim for reimbursement.

The major benefit of a VCA CareClub® Plan is saving money on your pet’s preventative care. VCA says that its wellness plans can help you save up to 25% each year on your dog or cat’s routine care, rather than paying for each service individually.

Learn more: Why a pet wellness plan is worth considering

VCA CareClub® Plans cover some of the most important preventative care services for dogs and cats. The Access Plan is a budget-friendly option with limited coverage. The Paws Plan is more expensive and provides personalized coverage for your pet’s age and breed.

Here’s what is covered under each VCA CareClub® Plan:

In addition to these veterinary services, both VCA CareClub® plans provide exclusive member benefits, like discounts on pet health essentials, like medications, food, supplements, shampoo, and dental products.

Learn more: Your guide to what pet insurance covers

A VCA CareClub® plan only covers certain types of routine pet care. It won’t pay for things that many pet insurance policies cover, including:

The cost of a VCA CareClub® Plan depends on the type of plan you choose. The Access Plan has a fixed rate of $19.99, but it offers limited coverage. A Paws Plan has a higher premium based on your pet’s specific needs and location. Some plans charge a one-time enrollment fee of $49.99.

To give you an idea of what you might pay for a Paws Plan (minus the enrollment fee), we collected sample quotes for several dog ages and breeds in various locations.

No, VCA CareClub® doesn’t offer a discount when you enroll multiple pets. If you have more than one dog or cat, they must be insured on separate plans. To compare, most pet insurance policies offer a discount of 5% or 10% when you insure multiple pets.

VCA CareClub® members can use the myVCA mobile app to access the 24/7 vet telehealth line, schedule appointments, order prescription refills, and more. The app has excellent reviews on the App Store and the Google Play Store.

You can purchase a VCA CareClub® Plan in all 50 states and Washington D.C. You can visit VCA’s website to find a VCA Animal Hospital in your area.

No, your pet doesn’t need a veterinary exam before you can purchase a VCA CareClub® plan.

For questions about CareClub® plans, call 800-743-8838

For general questions about VCA Animal Hospital and its services, call 800-966-1822

To send an email, use the online contact form

VCA’s mailing address is 12401 West Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA, 90064

You can only cancel a VCA CareClub® plan during the renewal period. Because the plan covers preventative care for one year, you can’t cancel your plan during the term. The only exceptions are the loss of your pet or moving. To cancel your plan, you should call VCA at 800-743-8838.
