UFP Packaging introduces new nail-free crate systems

UFP Packaging has released the Slot-Lock and Clamp-Lock 100, two new crate systems designed for assembly without the use of nail or staple guns.

This development adds to the company’s existing range of pneumatic-free packaging, including the U-Loc 200, which was brought to market last year.

The company’s new crate systems aim to address workplace safety concerns and increase operational efficiency.

According to UFP Packaging, its crates can be assembled and taken apart without damaging parts, making them suitable for reuse and helping to limit material waste.

Slot-Lock is described as a closed-style crate featuring CNC-routed interlocking panels, secured with strapping.

It is aimed at industries such as aerospace, defence, medical devices, and electronics where secure packaging is required.

Meanwhile, Clamp-Lock 100 is an open crate system using steel L-bracket fasteners that can be attached by hand.

This product is suited for commercial machinery, construction materials, and infrastructure-related goods.

The previously introduced U-Loc 200 employs a tool-free polyamide fastener and is designed for easy hand assembly and removal.

It is intended for sectors handling automotive parts and heavy equipment.

UFP Packaging offers custom design options for each crate system through its engineering team.

The launch follows UFP Packaging’s introduction of the U-Loc 200 solution last year.

The crate’s patent-pending fastener was highlighted by the company for removing the need for traditional tools that are reportedly linked to approximately 37,000 emergency room visits annually in the US.
