Indian tech major Infosys has introduced an AI-first model designed to assist enterprises in establishing and transforming global capability centres (GCCs) into centres focused on AI innovation.
The company’s new approach, called the AI-First GCC Model, aims to support organisations in making their GCCs strategic drivers for business operations and growth by integrating AI technologies throughout the centre’s lifecycle.
The offering provides a framework covering the entire process of GCC setup, talent strategy development, and operational execution.
It includes a unified platform for scaling AI solutions, as well as production-grade AI agents.
The model incorporates tools such as Infosys Agentic Foundry for developing and managing AI agents, EdgeVerve AI Next for deploying enterprise-scale AI, and Infosys Topaz, which brings AI-led services across all stages of GCC management.
The offering also integrates digital learning resources such as Infosys Springboard and leverages its corporate university infrastructure to build a workforce aligned with enterprise requirements.
According to Infosys, clients can select from multiple operating models, including Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), assisted builds, joint ventures, or partner-hosted options.
Infosys reported that it has previously worked on more than 100 engagements with local GCC entities across a range of industries.
Its partnerships have included companies such as Lufthansa Systems, zooplus, and Danske Bank.
Danske Bank COO Frans Woelders said: “Two years into our collaboration with Infosys, our Global Capability Center has become core to the execution of our strategy and to our AI-first vision.
“By leveraging Infosys’ expertise, we have integrated AI into our software delivery lifecycle through tools like GitHub Copilot, developed reusable GenAI platforms to drive innovation and scalability across the bank, and are now deploying multiple GenAI use cases across business domains, including customer service, compliance, risk, and operations.”
Infosys collaborated with Lufthansa Systems to set up a dedicated GCC focused on developing aviation IT products and data-driven solutions using generative AI capabilities.
Lufthansa Systems CEO Stefanie Neumann said: “Our collaboration with Infosys to establish a dedicated Global Capability Center has been a pivotal step in digital transformation journey of Lufthansa Systems.
“By leveraging their strong GCC and AI capabilities, we are building a future-ready innovation hub that enables our customers to enhance aviation safety, drive operational efficiency, and improve customer experience.”
