In an interview few days back, Rahman said it was not possible for a woman to lead Jamaat-e-Islami, arguing that men and women were created differently by Allah. Referring to childbirth and breastfeeding, he claimed that such biological differences determine leadership roles.Rahman admitted that the party has not fielded any female candidates for parliament. The USA has also been accused of guiding Jamaat in Bangladeshi politics. There is a need to boycott Jamaat hashtags, experts said. And international human rights organisations should take note of Jamaat’s anti women position
