Avelo Airlines, a budget carrier that mostly flies to destinations within the eastern United States, has launched a co-branded credit card with the financial technology company Cardless and First Electronic Bank. Applications are open as of Jan. 27, 2026.
The $99-annual-fee Avelo Airlines World Elite Mastercard earns 5% back in Avelo Cash on Avelo purchases and 2% in Avelo Cash on everything else. You can redeem Avelo Cash for future Avelo flights and flight add-ons such as seat selection fees.
There’s no foreign transaction fee or penalty APR.
The card’s price point puts it in competition with other midtier airline credit cards, but it lacks many of the perks you might expect to find in that category. Similarly priced airline cards offer multiple free checked bags, in-flight discounts and statement credits. By contrast, the Avelo card’s primary perk is one free carry-on.
Its welcome offer is comparatively stingy, too. New Avelo cardholders can earn 25,000 points equal to $250 in Avelo Cash after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 90 days from account opening.
The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card, which also has a $99 annual fee, comes with a much more robust welcome bonus: Earn 50,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. NerdWallet values Southwest points at 1.3 cents each, making that offer worth around $650.
