OzTREKK is primarily known for helping Canadian students find opportunities to study overseas – particularly in Australia and New Zealand, where it has “deep expertise”.
StudyIn said the deal would help to build on its existing platform for students considering where to study, as well as for university partners looking for “talented Canadian students”. The company will continue to operate under its existing brand and leadership, it clarified.
For its part, StudyIn said bringing OzTREKK under its umbrella highlighted an “important step” in strengthening its global platform and ability to recruit from multiple destinations.
The deal builds on the group’s exiting portfolio, having snapped up Indonesian agency SUN Education last year.
StudyIn said it shared core values with OzTREKK, such as good-quality counselling, responsible recruitment practices and strong relationships with university partners.
Commenting on the deal, Rob Grimshaw, chief executive officer of StudyIn, said that OzTREKK has built an “outstanding reputation helping Canadian students study at leading universities in Australia and New Zealand”, adding that he was “delighted” to welcome the business into the wider StudyIn group.

Meanwhile, Jaime Notman, CEO and founder of OzTREKK, said that the move was an “exciting new chapter” for the business.
“OzTREKK has always been focused on helping Canadian students access world-class international education opportunities,” he said.
At The PIE Live Europe last month, Grimshaw outlined the key international education markets to watch – namechecking Indonesia and Malaysia as well as popular European destinations.
