With strong global rankings, world-class facilities and campuses in both Cyprus and Germany, EUC offers an exceptional blend of academic excellence and international experience.

High rankings and global recognition

Five stars overall – QS Stars University Ratings 2024EUC has earned a prestigious Five-Star overall rating from QS Stars, achieving top scores in the performance indicators of teaching quality, employability, global engagement, online learning and diversity, equity and inclusion. In addition, the university’s MD in Medicine has earned Five Stars for its academic rigor and competitiveness.

Times Higher Education subject ranking (2026)EUC ranks among the top 501-600 universities globally for Medicine, Dentistry, and Health programs, according to THE’s World University Rankings by Subject. The university offers an extensive range of 29 Medical and Health Sciences programs, including Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine and Public/Health Life Sciences—13 of these programs are offered exclusively by EUC in Cyprus.

Part of Galileo Global EducationAs a proud member of Galileo Global Education, Europe’s largest higher education group, EUC benefits from a vast global network of academic partnerships, research collaborations and mobility opportunities. Today, the university serves more than 12,600 students, supported by state-of-the-art academic infrastructure across its Schools of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Sciences, Business, Law, and Humanities, Social and Education Sciences.

A leading destination for medical studies in Europe

In recent years, European University Cyprus has become a top choice for international medical students, offering English-taught Medicine, Dentistry degrees recognised across the European Union and beyond. These qualifications allow graduates seamless professional mobility and career progression worldwide.

Cyprus itself offers an outstanding environment for medical education – combining academic depth with a high quality of life, year-round sunshine and a modern, safe and stable setting. As an EU member state and part of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), Cyprus ensures that EUC’s programs meet European academic and professional standards, guaranteeing recognition and credibility across the continent.

School of Medicine: innovation and global recognition

At the heart of EUC’s success is its School of Medicine, renowned for its innovative curriculum, international faculty and early clinical exposure. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program is fully accredited, recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO) and listed in major global directories including ECFMG (USA), GMC (UK), and WFME.

A defining feature of the EUC MD program is its dual-campus structure. The EUC MD program is offered on two campus Nicosia, Cyprus or Frankfurt, Germany. Both programs offer equivalent academic standards and access to advanced facilities and clinical settings. This dual-country model provides unparalleled opportunities for international exposure and clinical experience in two European healthcare systems, significantly enhancing students’ career prospects.

The Frankfurt Campus: expanding medical education in Europe

EUC’s Frankfurt Campus extends the university’s academic excellence to the heart of Central Europe. The School of Medicine in Frankfurt delivers the same internationally recognised six-year MD program (≈360 ECTS, ~5,500 hours), combining early clinical experience with rigorous scientific training.

Key highlights include:

Integrated access to Germany’s advanced healthcare network through partnerships with hospitals and healthcare providers.

A consistent curriculum and teaching model mirroring the Nicosia campus, ensuring a unified academic and clinical experience.

An ideal base for students from Northern and Central Europe seeking an international medical education within the EU.

Holistic admissions and early clinical exposure

Unlike many European medical schools that require standardised entrance exams such as the IMAT or MCAT, EUC applies a school-based admissions model focused on academic performance and personal interviews. This holistic approach broadens accessibility while maintaining academic standards. From the first year of study, students engage with clinical environments through structured hospital visits, progressing to hands-on clinical activities in subsequent years. Placements span public and private hospitals in Cyprus, Germany, Greece, UK, United States and even Tanzania, giving EUC students a truly global clinical footprint

World-class facilities and personalised learning

EUC invests heavily in modern infrastructure, featuring simulation centers, anatomy and dissection labs and advanced biomedical research facilities. Small class sizes and close faculty mentorship ensure personalised guidance, preparing students for success in licensing exams such as USMLE (USA) and PLAB (UK), while maintaining full mobility within the EU.

A truly international experience

With students and faculty from over 70 countries, EUC offers a multicultural academic community that enriches both learning and personal development. This diversity fosters global awareness, collaboration and cultural understanding – key attributes for healthcare professionals in an increasingly interconnected world.
