The Most Active Non-NYC Venture Capital Firms in 2025 in New York – AlleyWatch
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LInkedIn

I analyzed recent venture funding data to identify the most active venture capital firms based outside of New York City investing in NYC-based startups across all stages. This analysis focuses on the number of investments rather than deal size and serves as a resource for founders to understand external capital flows into the NYC tech ecosystem. The data shows the number of investments made by each firm in 2025 and the specific NYC startups they invested in during this period.

Important Data Considerations:

Data is current as of March 10, 2026
Analysis excludes NYC-based venture capital firms, investments by accelerator programs including follow-ons, and investments by venture syndicates
Only includes firms actively investing in companies based, founded, and headquartered in NYCInvestment bank deals are not included
The dataset may be incomplete as some rounds are not publicly disclosed or filed

SEE HOW THIS COMPARES TO 2024

I asked my mother what she thinks about when she looks at old photographs of herself and she said “I think about how worried I was and how little of it mattered” — and the simplicity of that sentence from a woman who spent decades carrying everything has been sitting in my chest for three weeks because it contains a permission I’m not sure I’m brave enough to take yet

I grew up thinking my mother was cold because she never said I love you. I’m in my 60s now and I finally understand she said it every single day. She said it in packed lunches and ironed uniforms and the way she sat outside the school fifteen minutes early so I’d never have to look for her.

Research suggests adults who find it easier to bond with animals than with people aren’t antisocial — they’re drawn to a form of connection where the terms are visible, the loyalty isn’t conditional, and the relationship doesn’t require them to monitor a constantly shifting set of expectations that human attachment taught them to treat as a second job
