Amsterdam-based Geobirds, an AI-driven data intelligence platform, has secured pre-seed funding round from Graduate Ventures, with participation from Rockstart.

Dutch-based Graduate Entrepreneur aims to stimulate the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Rotterdam and Delft.

Graduate Entrepreneur is an initiative of a group of influential and merited alumni of Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus MC, and the Delft University of Technology.

“Geobirds is already seeing strong engagement and retention with its paying customers and will continue to expand its data coverage across Europe. The company is well-positioned to scale its product and grow its customer base in the coming months,” says Graduate Entrepreneur.

Geobirds: Data intelligence platform

Founded by Tom de Gier and Benjamin Naderi, Geobirds is an AI-driven data intelligence platform that transforms how transportation companies source leads and optimise operations.

Geobirds addresses a critical challenge in the logistics industry: structural inefficiencies in transport routes.

The Dutch startup combines satellite images with company data to help commercial teams find and target important business opportunities.

This addresses inefficiencies in transport routes, reduces empty returns, and improves profit margins.

The platform uses advanced AI models to analyse location data, predict trade routes, and provide useful leads about specific companies.

Its easy-to-use interface, similar to Google Maps, helps users search and filter potential partners based on cargo type, warehouse locations, and transport needs.

Geobirds’ technology predicts trade routes by mapping connections between companies, locations, and cargo types, even without direct transaction data.

The company is expanding its European market coverage, currently live in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, with plans to continue growing its customer base and data coverage.

Rockstart: Empowering purpose-driven founders

Rockstart is an early-stage investor that empowers purpose-driven founders across three domains: Energy, AgriFood, and Emerging Technologies.

The company invests in early-stage startups from each of the three funds and provides access to capital, market, and expertise by connecting founders with co-investors, mentors, partners, corporates, and the wider Rockstart network.

Rockstart has notable exits such as Wercker, Dan.com, Hubs.Com, Bouw7, iClinic, and Brincr. The company has offices in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Bogota.
