The Weekly Notable Startup Funding Report takes us on a trip across various ecosystems in the US, highlighting some of the notable funding activity in the various markets that we track. The notable startup funding rounds for the week ending 5/3/25 featuring funding details for Persona, Plenful, Blacksmith, and seventeen other deals representing $1.5B in new funding that you need to know about.

Blacksmith – $3.5M

San Francisco-based Blacksmith is a company that helps businesses to conduct their continuous integration (CI) up to twice as quickly and at half the expense. Founded by Aayush Shah, Aditya Jayaprakash, and Aditya Maru in 2024, Blacksmith has now raised a total of $4.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Eli Brown, Google Ventures, JJ Fliegelman, Peter Mattis, Richard Aberman, Spencer Kimball, Theo Browne, and Y Combinator.

Epicore Biosystems – $6.0M

Cambridge-based Epicore Biosystems is a digital health solutions company that develops sweat-sensing wearables, providing personalized health insights. Founded by AJ Aranyosi, Jeffrey Model, Roozbeh Ghaffari, and Stephen Lee in 2017, Epicore Biosystems has now raised a total of $41.9M in total equity funding and is backed by Alumni Ventures and Joyance Partners.

Near Space Labs – $20.0M

Brooklyn-based Near Space Labs provides aerial imagery using zero-emission balloons to support mapping, urban planning, and environmental monitoring. Founded by Albert Caubet, Ignasi Lluch, and Rema Matevosyan in 2017, Near Space Labs has now raised a total of $33.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Bold Capital Partners, Climate Capital, Crosslink Capital, Draper Associates, Gaingels, RiverPark Ventures, Third Sphere, and USAA.

Growers Edge – $25.0M

Johnston-based Growers Edge provides financial products and data tools for agricultural retailers. Founded by Billy Rose and Joe Young in 2017, Growers Edge has now raised a total of $85.5M in total equity funding and is backed by Cibus Fund, iSelect Fund, Jeffrey Ubben, Lowercarbon Capital, Otter Creek Advisors, and S2G Investments.

Chaos – $275.0M

Los Angeles-based Chaos Industries develops advanced technologies for defense and critical industries. Founded by Bo Marr, Brett Cummings, Gavin Hood, and John Tenet in 2022, Chaos has now raised a total of $490.0M in total equity funding and is backed by 8VC, Accel, New Enterprise Associates, Overmatch Ventures, StepStone Group, Tru Arrow Partners, and Valor Equity Partners.

Founded by Charles Yeh and Rick Song in 2018, Persona has now raised a total of $417.5M in total equity funding and is backed by Bond, Chemistry, Coatue, First Round Capital, Founders Fund, Index Ventures, and Ribbit Capital.

NetFoundry – $12.0M

Charlotte-based NetFoundry offers secure, zero trust networking solutions, enabling application-specific networks without VPNs or MPLS dependencies. Founded by David Hart, Galeal Zino, James Clardy, Michael Hallett, Michael Kochanik, and Robert Caamano in 2017, NetFoundry has now raised a total of $12.0M in total equity funding and is backed by SYN Ventures.

True Anomaly – $260.0M

Centennial-based True Anomaly is builds space security and resilience at the intersection of spacecraft, software, and autonomy. Founded by Even Rogers and Kyle Zakrzewski in 2022, True Anomaly has now raised a total of $400.6M in total equity funding and is backed by 645 Ventures, Accel, ACME Capital, Champion Hill Ventures, Eclipse Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Meritech Capital Partners, Narya Capital, Riot Ventures, and Space.VC.

Rogo – $50.0M

New York-based Rogo is a secure Generative AI platform purpose-built for elite financial institutions. Founded by Gabriel Stengel, John Willett, and Tumas Rackaitis in 2022, Rogo has now raised a total of $79.0M in total equity funding and is backed by AlleyCorp, BoxGroup, J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners, Khosla Ventures, Positive Sum, Thrive Capital, and Tiger Global Management.

Astronomer – $93.0M

New York-based Astronomer is a data orchestration platform built on Apache Airflow, enabling teams to build, run, and monitor data pipelines at scale. Founded by Greg Neiheisel, Ry Walker, and Tim Brunk in 2018, Astronomer has now raised a total of $375.9M in total equity funding and is backed by Bain Capital Ventures, Bosch Ventures, Insight Partners, Meritech Capital Partners, Salesforce Ventures, and Venrock.

Apex – $200.0M

Los Angeles-based Apex designs and manufactures satellite buses tailored for various space missions. Founded by Ian Cinnamon and Maximilian Benassi in 2022, Apex has now raised a total of $322.0M in total equity funding and is backed by 8VC, Andreessen Horowitz, Point72 Ventures, StepStone Group, and Washington Harbour Partners.

Supio – $60.0M

Seattle-based Supio is an accurate and dependable AI that assists attorneys in finding crucial information. Founded by Jerry Zhou and Kyle Lam in 2021, Supio has now raised a total of $85.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Mayfield Fund, Sapphire Ventures, and Thomson Reuters Ventures.

Plenful – $50.0M

San Francisco-based Plenful is a no-code workflow automation and AI platform that optimizes healthcare’s manual, administrative workflows. Founded by Joy Liu and Joy Patel in 2021, Plenful has now raised a total of $76.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Arena Holdings, Bessemer Venture Partners, Mitchell P. Rales, Notable Capital, Susa Ventures, and TQ Ventures.

Hoofprint Biome – $15.0M

Raleigh-based Hoofprint Biome is a biotechnology company that develops probiotics that improve the sustainability of ruminant livestock production. Founded by Kathryn Polkoff and Scott Collins in 2023, Hoofprint Biome has now raised a total of $15.0M in total equity funding and is backed by AgriZeroNZ, Alexandria Venture Investments, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Climate Pledge Fund, Good Growth Capital, Ponderosa Ventures, SOSV, and Twynam Agricultural Group.

Gorgie – $24.5M

Boca Raton-based Gorgie is a wellness beverage company specializing in clean, sugar-free energy drinks designed to support focus, energy, and vitality. Founded by Michelle Cordeiro Grant in 2023, Gorgie has now raised a total of $31.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Coefficient Capital, Jason Cohen, Notable Capital, and Yossi Nasser.

Sennos – $15.0M

Durham-based Sennos offers a real-time monitoring solution that enhances control over the fermentation process. Founded by Jared Resnick in 2017, Sennos has now raised a total of $32.6M in total equity funding and is backed by Jan Stahlberg and TomEnterprise Private.

Zoe Financial – $29.6M

New York-based Zoe Financial is a wealth management platform that connects people with independent investment advisors for investment management. Founded by Andres Garcia Amaya in 2018, Zoe Financial has now raised a total of $45.9M in total equity funding and is backed by CAPTRUST, Creative Planning, Falcon Wealth Planning, Mariner Wealth Advisors, Perigon Wealth Management, and Sageview Capital.
