London-based Isembard, the software-first manufacturing company, has raised $9M (approximately €8M) in a seed funding round led by Notion Capital, which is backed by the UK Government’s National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF) and the German Federal Government.
Notion Capital is a European B2B SaaS and Cloud VC with more than $1B in assets under management and with more than 100 investments to date.
The VC’s portfolio includes GoCardless, Mews, Paddle, Unbabel, and YuLife. Notion is also the founder of Included VC, the venture capital fellowship for individuals from diverse and overlooked communities worldwide.

Additionally, 201 Ventures, Basis Capital, Forward Fund, Material Ventures, Neverlift Ventures, and NP-Hard Ventures, also participated.
Angel investors in the round include Andreas Klinger (Product Hunt), Charlie Delingpole (ComplyAdvantage), Joshua Western (SpaceForge), and Salar al Khafaji (Monumental).
The funding will help the UK company to expand its first factory, grow its engineering team, and scale its technology platform to enable defence, aerospace, energy, and other critical industries to access faster, more reliable, and more cost-effective production.
