EliseAI Raises 0M to Scale AI Automation Across Healthcare and Housing – AlleyWatch
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LInkedIn

Healthcare and housing systems face unprecedented challenges, with U.S. healthcare administrative costs exceeding $600B annually while property managers struggle with labor shortages and workforce turnover rates above 40%. These industries represent nearly 40% of household spending yet remain notoriously complex and outdated to navigate. EliseAI addresses these pain points through vertical AI workflows that automate the entire consumer journey in both sectors. The platform manages scheduling, patient inquiries, and call center operations in healthcare while automating leasing, maintenance, renewals, and tours in rental housing, already powering 1 in 8 apartments in the U.S. With their recent $250M Series E funding, EliseAI continues expanding their AI-powered solutions that cut administrative costs by up to 25% and eliminate patient wait times while doubling revenue for four consecutive years.

AlleyWatch sat down with EliseAI Cofounder and CEO Minna Song to learn more about the business, its future plans, recent funding round, which brings the company’s total funding raised to $391.9M, and much, much more…

Who were your investors and how much did you raise?

We raised a $250M Series E led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Sapphire Ventures, and Navitas Capital.

Tell us about the product or service that EliseAI offers.

EliseAI builds AI workflows that automate the entire consumer journey in housing and healthcare. In healthcare, the platform manages scheduling, questions, and call center operations, cutting administrative costs (more $600B annually in the US healthcare system). In rental housing, Elise AI automates leasing, maintenance, renewals, and tours and already powers 1 in 8 apartments in the U.S.

What inspired the start of EliseAI?

EliseAI was founded on the belief that AI can dramatically improve how critical industries operate. Healthcare and housing together make up nearly 40% of household spending in the U.S., yet both are notoriously outdated and frustrating to navigate. The company set out to fix those broken systems with agentic AI.

How is EliseAI different?

EliseAI is a vertical AI company, which means it builds industry-specific solutions tailored to real-world problems. Unlike horizontal AI that only acknowledges a request, EliseAI can handle every step of a workflow end-to-end, from coordinating building access for a maintenance request to ensuring compliance in patient communications.

What market does EliseAI target and how big is it?

The company focuses on healthcare and housing. U.S. healthcare administrative costs exceed $600B annually, and EliseAI already serves 12% of the U.S. apartment market. Both markets are massive and underserved by advanced technology.

What’s your business model?

EliseAI sells cloud-based software to healthcare providers and property managers. The company passed $100M in annual recurring revenue earlier this year, doubling revenue for four years in a row.

How are you preparing for a potential economic slowdown?

EliseAI helps customers lower costs and operate more efficiently, which makes its platform even more valuable in a downturn. By taking on administrative tasks, it gives housing operators and healthcare providers breathing room to focus on care and service.

What was the funding process like?

Investors were eager to participate because they see the traction EliseAI has achieved and the clear demand for vertical AI solutions. The company raised quickly after its Series D because of strong revenue growth and customer adoption.

What are the biggest challenges that you faced while raising capital?

Even with tremendous investor interest and strong metrics, fundraising is still a time-consuming process that takes time away from the day-to-day work of building a business, which can, of course, be a challenge when you’re in the midst of growing and scaling.

What factors about your business led your investors to write the check?

Investors were attracted to EliseAI’s depth in housing and healthcare, its ability to automate entire workflows, and its growth trajectory. Passing $100 million ARR, serving 1 in 8 U.S. apartments, and gaining momentum in healthcare showed clear traction.

What are the milestones you plan to achieve in the next six months?

EliseAI plans to triple its team, with heavy investment in engineering, AI research, and product over the coming years. The company will continue expanding across healthcare and housing while growing its office hubs in New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Chicago.

What advice can you offer companies in New York that do not have a fresh injection of capital in the bank?

We were once a small company in New York without funding, and while perhaps a cliche, our success was the result of hard work, an obsession with listening to our customers and solving their problems and some luck. I think there is more talent in New York than ever before and there are lots of opportunities for fast-growing companies looking to expand their teams.

Where do you see the company going now over the near term?

EliseAI is doubling down on its two core markets, scaling its product suite in housing and healthcare, and expanding internationally. The focus is on execution, product innovation, and growing capacity for customers.
