The sun rises. Eighty-eight percent of the rich rise with it. They do not stay in bed. They move. They act with purpose. I studied 233 wealthy souls for five years. My Rich Habits research shows they start early. Only two percent of the 128 poor people in my study did the same.

What do they do with their morning time? The rich read. They sweat. They plan. Their mornings are not wasted. Their mornings are their weapon.

Harvard men, in a 2016 study, wrote that early rising sharpens focus. Forbes tells of CEOs—Oprah, Cook—who wake to books or journals. The wealthy use their mornings to build wealth. It is deliberate.

The rich sit with books in the quiet. My data says 88% of the self-made rich read to learn 30 minutes each day. They do not read for pleasure. They hunt for knowledge—finance, trade, self-improvement. They mark pages. They highlight sentences. They think and contemplate what they read.

A 2018 Forbes article speaks of leaders who rise at dawn to learn. The poor, I found, read little. Only two percent touch books daily. The rich drink coffee, open pages, and grow their minds. Those minds, forged by self-learning, become sharp, like knives.

They move their bodies. Seventy-six percent of the self-made rich exercise 30 minutes each morning. It is not for mirrors. It is for clarity, brain health, body health. A 2020 Frontiers in Psychology study says morning sweat wakes the brain. It strengthens the muscles of discipline.

Daily exercise helps the rich make better, clearer decisions. Richard Branson, as CNBC noted in 2017, runs or bikes while most of the world is still dreaming in their beds. Branson said he thinks clearer after exercise.

Corley’s Rich Habits articles say start small. Ten minutes of exercise a day. Each month, increase from their.

The self-made rich set goals. Seventy-six percent of the rich write down what must be done. Most often, their goals are tied to their dreams or to who or what they want to be. They look far—five years, ten, twenty years into the future. Then they track each day’s progress, often via personal diaries/journals. A 2019 Journal of Applied Psychology study says goal-setting boosts performance by 25%. Goals are not about hope. Goals are about action and focus. List three tasks each morning you must complete. Write them down clearly.

Elon Musk, Business Insider wrote in 2021, cuts his day into five-minute blocks. He does not drift. He moves forward. The rich do not wander. They strike for oil each day.

You can begin tomorrow morning. Wake 30 minutes before the world and your competition wakes up. Read just ten minutes tomorrow morning – books on money, craft, motivation, self-help. Walk just ten minutes tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning, write down three goals to accomplish that day. I call them daily to do goals.

My Rich Habits data shows these daily morning habits compounds over time. Eighty percent of millionaires swear by habits. The Rich Habits Research Summary, free on my Rich Habits site, lays it all out. It is not luck. It’s not fate. It’s not some unseen force. It’s work. Plain and simple – work. Every day.

The morning is yours. Take it. Use it. Build wealth by doing what the wealthy do every morning.

Your morning routine will transform your life.
