Labor Day in 2025 falls on Monday, September 1, a U.S. federal holiday honoring the contributions of American workers. Many people enjoy the day off—some spend time with loved ones, while others run errands. If you’re planning to shop, you may be wondering: Is Costco open on Labor Day 2025?

Is Costco Open on Labor Day 2025?

No, Costco will be closed on Labor Day 2025. The company closes all of its U.S. warehouses on this holiday, giving employees the day off in recognition of their labor.

Does Costco Have a Labor Day Sale?

Though Costco stores will be closed on Labor Day itself, that doesn’t mean you’ll miss out on deals. Costco regularly offers seasonal promotions through its Coupon Book and weekly specials—even during Labor Day weekend.  What you’ll need to do is access the deals through Costco.com.

The good news is that they’re running a number of excusive online sales – including discounts on household goods, tires, large appliances,  home furniture and consumer electronics.  You can get to costco.com by clicking here.

Costco Holiday Schedule — 2025

Costco historically closes on several major federal holidays. Here’s the updated schedule for 2025:

New Year’s Day–Wednesday, January 1–ClosedEaster Sunday–Sunday, April 20–Closed Memorial Day–Monday, May 26–ClosedIndependence Day–Friday, July 4–ClosedLabor Day–Monday, September 1–ClosedThanksgiving Day–Thursday, November 27–ClosedChristmas Day–Thursday, December 25–Closed

All U.S. warehouses follow this nationwide closure schedule.

Costco Regular Operation Hours (2025)

Unless otherwise noted, here are Costco’s typical hours:

Monday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Keep in mind: some locations—especially in high-traffic areas—may open or close slightly earlier or later by about 30 minutes.  Closures and open hours are also impacted by local wealth conditions, construction road closures or the like.  Use Costco’s website, app, or store locator for precise info.

Costco honors Labor Day by closing its warehouses—unlike many retailers, which stay open. If you’re planning to shop for Labor Day weekend, make sure to head to Costco on Sunday, August 31, or earlier to avoid inconvenience.
