Costco is a holiday shopping favorite for many, thanks to its unbeatable deals on everything from gourmet gift baskets to oversized decorations and discounted gift cards. But if you’re wondering whether you can make a last-minute Costco run on Christmas Day 2025, here’s what you need to know.

Is Costco Open on Christmas Day 2025?

No, Costco will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2025. This closure is part of Costco’s long-standing policy of observing major U.S. holidays by giving employees the day off. In fact, Costco only closes on seven days each year, and Christmas is one of them.

New Year’s DayEaster SundayMemorial DayIndependence DayLabor DayThanksgiving DayChristmas Day

If you need to stock up on groceries, gifts, or party supplies, be sure to shop before the 25th.

Does Costco Close Early on Christmas Eve?

Yes, Costco will operate with reduced hours on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Most warehouses are expected to open around 10:00 a.m. and close by 5:00 p.m., though some locations may open earlier for Executive Members or adjust hours slightly. It’s always a good idea to check your local store’s schedule in advance.

What About New Year’s Eve?

Costco typically closes early on New Year’s Eve as well, following a similar schedule to Christmas Eve. Expect stores to close by 6:00 p.m. or earlier. Again, local hours may vary, so confirm with your nearest warehouse.

What Holiday Deals Can You Expect at Costco?

Costco is known for ramping up its value during the holidays. Here are some standout seasonal offerings:

Discounted gift cards (e.g., $100 Instacart cards for $80)Holiday gift baskets with gourmet treats and wineMatching family pajamas and seasonal apparelOutdoor decorations like oversized snowmen, reindeer, and pre-lit garlandsLarge Christmas trees and indoor décor at warehouse prices

These items tend to sell out quickly, so it’s best to shop early in the season.

Final Thoughts

Costco is a go-to destination for holiday prep, but it’s not the place for last-minute Christmas Day shopping. With all warehouses closed on December 25, 2025, plan ahead to take advantage of the deals and avoid disappointment. And if you’re still in the shopping mood on Christmas Day, Costco.com remains open for online browsing and ordering, though fulfillment will resume on December 26.
