Highschool Application College Application

In February 2026, the Mises Institute will hold its next Mises Book Clubs, a program that promotes deep reading in Austrian economics. Continuing this spring, we will hold two virtual clubs for high schoolers and undergraduate students. Please apply for a position in the Mises Book Club by January 23. Decisions will be communicated to all applicants by January 30.

Highschool Mises Virtual Book Club:

The question of the nature of money (”What is money?”) is key to economics since modern economies use money, and it therefore touches almost every aspect of our lives. For that reason, there is a closely-related second question that is raised by the title of Rothbard’s short book: What Has Government Done to Our Money? For centuries, governments have realized that they could simultaneously enrich themselves and their beneficiaries and tax the people through control of the money supply and inflation. Unmasking this reality is key to understanding how modern governments use money as a political tool, and Rothbard guides us through a clear, step-by-step lesson on how this takes place.

The Mises Institute’s Joshua Mawhorter will meet with students on Tuesdays every other week beginning on February 10. Complementary copies of the book will be mailed to each student using the address provided on the application.

College Mises Virtual Book Club:

To be determined shortly!

Scholarship Application Guidelines

Each applicant must provide a copy of the following: student photo ID (or photo headshot) and an unofficial academic transcript (college students only).

Code of Conduct Agreement

Please complete the agreement to participate in our student program.
