It began with a steep selloff into a Nasdaq bear market, but the second quarter of 2025 is poised to be the stock market’s best quarter in years.
The S&P 500, up 0.3% from Friday’s record close, is up more than 10% in the second quarter. It would mark the index’s best quarterly performance since the fourth quarter of 2023.
The Nasdaq Composite, up 0.3% on Monday from its Friday record, is up 17.5% this quarter. That would be the tech-heavy index’s best quarterly gain since the second quarter of 2020.
