Tariff Policy Summary: The U.S. has raised its average tariff rate to the highest since the 1930, with steep new tariffs on Chinese, Mexican, and Canadian imports. Market volatility has increased as investors respond to ongoing trade tensions.
Tax/Budget Policy Summary: The House-passed “Big Beautiful Bill” (BBB) proposes extending the 2017 tax cuts, raising the SALT deduction cap, and exempting tips and overtime from income taxes.
