Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.04% to hit a new 3-months high, while the index fell 0.46%, and the index declined 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the were Merck KGaA (ETR:), which rose 1.92% or 3.05 points to trade at 161.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Qiagen NV (ETR:) added 0.87% or 0.33 points to end at 38.30 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) was up 0.78% or 1.70 points to 220.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:), which fell 2.42% or 4.65 points to trade at 187.85 at the close. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:) declined 1.43% or 0.76 points to end at 52.40 and Covestro AG (ETR:) was down 1.33% or 0.68 points to 50.32.
The top performers on the MDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which rose 3.30% to 59.55, Lanxess AG (ETR:) which was up 2.58% to settle at 23.42 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:) which gained 2.41% to close at 5.86.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was down 4.41% to 19.96 in late trade, Aurubis AG (ETR:) which lost 3.86% to settle at 75.22 and Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was down 3.16% to 32.80 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which rose 11.11% to 5.55, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which was up 3.30% to settle at 59.55 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 1.31% to close at 24.76.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 5.02% to 25.74 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:) which lost 4.50% to settle at 212.00 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was down 4.41% to 19.96 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 349 to 293 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) rose to all time highs; up 0.78% or 1.70 to 220.70.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.27% to 13.68.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.15% or 44.90 to $2,044.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.57% or 0.42 to hit $73.65 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.30 to trade at $78.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 103.66.
