Bilt Cash: What Is It, and How Does It Work?
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LInkedIn

Bilt Cash is one of two rewards currencies you can earn on one of the three Bilt credit cards. Bilt Cash can’t be redeemed for actual cash back or transferred directly to Bilt’s multiple travel partners, but you can spend it on eligible purchases through the Bilt app or on bilt.com.

The Bilt Blue Card ($0 annual fee).

The Bilt Obsidian Card ($95 annual fee).

The Bilt Palladium Card ($495 annual fee).

Bilt Cash was introduced in January 2026 when Bilt revamped its card lineup. Each $1 in Bilt Cash is typically worth $1 when redeemed within the Bilt ecosystem. One notable way to spend Bilt Cash is to essentially buy the ability to earn Bilt Points (the company’s other rewards currency) when you use your card to pay your rent or mortgage. More on that later.

If you’re considering one of the Bilt credit cards, here’s what you need to know about Bilt Cash.

How to earn Bilt Cash

There are two options for earning Bilt Cash. You’ll pick one when you activate your Bilt card, but you can change it at any time.

Option 1: You earn Bilt Cash as part of your welcome bonus, plus $50 of Bilt Cash for every 25,000 Bilt Points you earn. Otherwise, you won’t earn Bilt Cash through your spending. Instead, the more non-housing-related spending you put on the card, the higher your “points multiplier” is for earning Bilt Points on housing costs (the multiplier ranges from 0.5 to 1.25 points per $1).

Option 2: You earn Bilt Cash as part of your welcome bonus, plus 4% back in the form of Bilt Cash for purchases that aren’t rent or mortgage payments. You’ll also earn $50 of Bilt Cash for every 25,000 Bilt Points you earn.

How to use Bilt Cash

You can spend Bilt Cash to “unlock” Bilt Points on rent or mortgage payments if you choose Option 2; in this case, you’re essentially using Bilt Cash to cover a transaction fee. For every $30 in Bilt Cash you spend for this purpose, you’ll earn 1,000 Bilt Points.

But there are a number of other ways to use Bilt Cash.

Monthly and annual credits

You can redeem Bilt Cash dollar for dollar toward specific credits. Some credit amounts vary based on your Bilt status tier, which is determined by how many points you earn in a calendar year. Track your Bilt Cash balance, along with credits and other redemption options, in the Bilt app or on bilt.com.

GrubHub: $10 per month for grocery or restaurant delivery.

Gopuff: $5 per month for delivery orders, plus $100 per year toward a Gopuff Fam membership.

Bilt Dining: $25 per month toward one monthly visit to a Bilt Dining partner, and $50 per month to book Bilt dining experiences.

Hotel stays: $50 per month for Blue and Silver members, and $100 per month for Gold and Platinum members, toward hotel stays booked through the Bilt travel portal. There is a two-night-stay minimum.

Lyft: $10 per month for rides.

Blacklane: Annual ride credit of $50 for Blue and Silver, $100 for Gold and $150 for Platinum.

BLADE: Up to $350 per seat on up to two seats per year for helicopter flights to the airport.

Hotel benefits: It’ll cost $95 in Bilt Cash for Blue and Silver members to unlock benefits available to Gold and Platinum members. These include room upgrades, $100 hotel credits, late checkout and more.

Priority Pass lounges: Holders of the Bilt Palladium Card can bring up to two additional guests into Priority Pass airport lounges per month for $32 per guest.

Bilt Neighborhood Parking: $5 per month at participating locations.

Fitness classes: $40 per month toward classes at participating fitness studios.

Walgreens: $10 per month.

Comedy shows: $50 per month toward Bilt comedy experiences.

Bilt Design Collection: $10 per month.

Note that unused credits won’t roll over into the following month or year.

Point accelerator

If you select Option 2, where you earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on non-housing purchases, you can use Bilt Cash up to five times per year to earn an extra Bilt Point per $1 spent on everyday spending categories. This is available only for the Bilt Obsidian Card and Bilt Palladium Card. Once activated, you’ll earn extra points on up to $5,000 in spending.

🤓Nerdy Tip

Note, again, that Bilt Cash and Bilt Points are different rewards currencies, redeemable for different things. Unlike Bilt Cash, Bilt Points can be transferred to Bilt’s travel partners. You can also use Bilt Points toward gift cards, Amazon purchases, Lyft rides, rent credits, home down payments, home decor and fitness classes. Bilt Point values vary depending on how you use them.

Bilt Cash limitations

Despite having “cash” in its name, Bilt Cash has no actual cash value outside of the Bilt network. It can’t be redeemed for a statement credit or cash back in any other form.

Bilt Cash expires at the end of the year in which it was earned. You can carry over $100 in Bilt Cash from the prior year into the next one.
