Steal My Work-From-Home Toolkit (That Helped Me Build a 7-Figure Business)
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LInkedIn

When people ask how I run a seven-figure business from home while still raising a family and managing everyday life, they often expect the answer to be complicated. But the truth? The small business tools I rely on most are surprisingly simple.

Some are free. Some cost a little. But every single one helps me stay organized, protect my time, and actually get things done.

Whether you’re starting your own business or side hustle, managing a household, or just want to feel less scattered during your day, here’s my real-life toolkit and the specific small business apps, tools, and systems I use every single day to keep my business running and thriving.

My Work from Home Productivity Tools

A person in a denim jacket works at an Apple desktop computer displaying a digital calendar filled with colorful scheduled events. highlighting productivity as she uses the best free apps for small business owners.

1. Google Calendar (Free)

This is so much more than just a calendar to me. I use Google Calendar as a catch-all for ideas, reminders, and scheduling — both for work and home life.

I map out content ideas, launches, and big deadlines

I brain dump anything I’m trying to remember (from blog post ideas to grocery needs)

I block off time for focused work, errands, and rest

I keep our entire family’s schedule in one place

Honestly, this small business tool alone clears so much mental clutter. If it’s not in my calendar, it doesn’t get done, so it’s a load off my mind to have a reliable system for making things happen.

2. Canva Pro (Free + Paid Plan Available)

We build almost everything visual in my business with Canva. No graphic design background needed! This includes everything from:

Digital products and freebies

Instagram posts and reel covers

Blog graphics and Pinterest pins

Email headers and slide decks

Even the free version is incredibly powerful, but I love the Pro version for things like brand kits, resizing images quickly, and access to premium templates and graphics. Canva is easily one of the best small business tools out there.

3. Monday.com (Free + Paid Plan Available)

This is one of the newer additions to my work from home productivity toolkit, but it has already made a huge difference.

I switched to Monday.com after realizing my Google Calendar was overloaded and hard to manage as our business grew. Now it’s our digital command center:

Our entire content calendar lives here

We map out IG posts, email newsletters, and product launches

I keep daily task lists and track progress on team projects

Sponsored campaigns are organized in one clean space

Upcoming interviews and podcast details stay organized and in one place

It’s visually satisfying and it keeps me on track without feeling overwhelmed.

4. Zoom (Free + Paid Plan Available)

Sometimes, the best moves in business happen in a 20-minute Zoom call. I use Zoom multiple times a week for things like:

Team check-ins and meetings

Coaching sessions and collaboration meetings

Interviews and virtual events

This tool helps me connect, communicate, and keep momentum going — even from my dining room table.

5. Opal (Paid)

This is my secret weapon for actually logging off at night.

Opal is a distraction blocker app that locks me out of social media every evening at 8:10 p.m. sharp. I’ve customized it so I can’t override it once it starts, which means:

No more endless scrolling before bed.

I get better sleep

I’m more present in the evenings

I protect my rest so I can show up better the next day

Productivity isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about knowing when to stop.

6. Strides (Free + Paid Plan Available)

Strides is my favorite app for habit and goal tracking.

Whether I’m working toward personal habits like drinking more water or business goals like hitting deadlines, this app helps me:

Track progress visually

Stay motivated with streaks and milestones

Break down big goals into consistent daily steps

It’s simple, flexible, and keeps me from falling off track. Strides is easily one of my favorite free apps for small business owners.

A smiling woman holds her hand near her face to display her Oura ring.

7. Oura Ring (Paid)

I didn’t think a ring would change my life, but it kind of did.

My Oura Ring tracks sleep, recovery, heart rate, and activity. More importantly, it gives me a daily readiness score that I use to plan how hard I push myself.

If my sleep score is low, I prioritize rest and lighter tasks

If I’m feeling rested and strong, I schedule more creative or demanding work

It helps me avoid burnout by listening to what my body actually needs

Rest isn’t optional — it’s part of the plan. And this little tool helps me make sure I’m not ignoring the signs I need it.

8. My $7 Amazon Notebook

This might be the most underrated item in my whole small business toolkit.

I bought this $7 notebook from Amazon and use it for my daily time-blocked to-do list. Every morning, I write out:

My top 3 priorities for the day

A realistic schedule based on meetings and energy levels

Any small tasks that need to get done

It’s not expensive. It’s not digital. But it works. Sometimes the simplest tools make the biggest difference.

Take Advantage of Some of My Favorite Small Business Tools

You don’t need a big budget or complicated business software systems to stay organized and grow a thriving business from home. These tools — some free, some small investments — have helped me manage my time, protect my energy, and keep showing up with purpose day after day.

By the way, if you’re looking for more ways to boost your income from home, don’t miss my Side Hustles for Women freebie! It’s packed with flexible, creative ideas you can start right away — even if you only have a few extra hours each week.

Whether you’re running a business, managing a household, or doing both, I hope these tools help you find a little more clarity, ease, and momentum in your day.
