Phoenix, US-based Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo), a company specialised in comprehensive musculoskeletal care delivery, announced the acquisition of Caro Health, an AI-powered digital health company based in Amsterdam.
“Our partnership with HOPCo enables us to accelerate our technology, expand our reach, and deliver intelligent, personalised healthcare communication on a global scale – faster and more effectively than ever before,” says Thomas Goijarts, Co-founder and CEO of Caro Health.
HOPCo’s acquisition will boost its global digital platform and is expected to improve patient experiences and operational efficiency for all its partners.
Caro Health: Digital health companion
Founded in 2019, Caro Health has developed a proprietary AI platform that offers tailored support, progress monitoring, and automated tools that integrate effortlessly with EHR systems.
By eliminating administrative workloads and improving communication, the Amsterdam company enables care teams to focus on delivering efficient, patient-focused care.
Currently supporting almost 40 healthcare organisations across Europe, the Dutch company is expanding its presence in hospitals and clinics, reshaping the connection between patients and providers throughout every stage of treatment.
“It will also allow us to better serve our local customers here in the Netherlands and across Europe by leveraging HOPCo’s clinical expertise and comprehensive digital platform and services. This will help us stay focused on our core strengths while speeding up the development of patient-centric, value-based technology solutions. We’re excited to be part of the HOPCo Digital Health Team as we work to replicate the success we’ve achieved in Europe, in the United States,” adds Goijarts.
What’s the deal?
As part of the acquisition, Goijarts will take on the role of Head of Products for HOPCo Digital, reporting to HOPCo’s Global CIO.
Meanwhile, Caro co-founder Guusje van der Heijden will oversee customer success and delivery for HOPCo in Europe. Her responsibilities will include supporting HOPCo’s established European clients and expanding HOPCo’s digital platform and services to Caro’s existing customer base.
HOPCo plans to grow its new European office by increasing resources to expand its international business and strengthen partnerships with its global base of clients.
As part of the deal, Caro’s platform and team will be fully integrated into HOPCo’s Digital Health Division, aiding in the ongoing AI augmentation of products like HOPCo Vitals, myrecovery by HOPCo, HOPCo’s EMR Ecosystem and its cloud-based infrastructure for practices, ambulatory surgery centres, and health systems.
“At HOPCo, we are building the most comprehensive digital platform globally with end-to-end products and services necessary to support practices, ambulatory surgery centres, health systems, and payors – from patient management to top-tier Cloud-based security,” says Chris Martinez, Global Chief Information Officer at HOPCo.
“The integration of Caro Health’s innovative technology across our full suite of digital products and services will accelerate our AI roadmap and enable us to better support our customers across the globe in delivering high-quality, cost-effective care. Our time-to-value is crucial to our overall success, and we will continue to make strategic acquisitions, develop new products, and hire world-class engineering talent,” adds Martinez.
