Independence Day commemorates the founding of America and is the most popular holiday for grilling. Americans eat a whopping 150 million hot dogs on the 4th of July, plus 700 million pounds of chicken and 190 million pounds of red meat and pork. If you need to pick up some ingredients for your own holiday cookout, you may be wondering, Is Walmart open on the 4th of July? Here’s what you need to know about Walmart’s holiday hours to plan your shopping trip.

Is Walmart Open on the 4th of July?

If you don’t have time to shop for your barbecue in advance, you may be wondering, Is Walmart open on the 4th of July? Luckily, Walmart will be open during regular store hours on Independence Day, so you can head there for any last-minute ingredients you need for your cookout.

Although store hours may vary slightly, you can expect most Walmart locations to be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the holiday. This gives you plenty of time to stock up on 4th of July essentials like pool floats and condiments.

Walmart Holiday Hours

Walmart stays open on most holidays so shoppers can get what they need for their celebrations. The store only shuts its doors on two major holidays throughout the year—Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day. Keep in mind that some locations may also close early on Christmas Eve.

Other Stores That Are Open on the 4th of July

If you want to go shopping on Independence Day to take advantage of all the holiday deals, you’ll be glad to know that plenty of stores will be open, including:

However, if you’re a Costco member, don’t try to go to your favorite warehouse store on the holiday. Costco shuts its doors for the 4th of July, so make sure you pick up any bulk ingredients you need for your barbecue in advance.
