A man purportedly wanted by the FBI for fraud was found dangling out of a 31st-floor high-rise apartment building in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday, NBC New York reports.
The FBI arrived at the 56th street building around 9 am Wednesday, and law enforcement officials said the FBI was fulfilling a warrant for the arrest of a man on fraud-related charges. The man then kicked open the window of his luxury apartment window and threatened to jump, prompting a high-rise standoff that lasted well through the afternoon with a crowd gathering on the street below and video footage of the event surfacing on social media and apps such as CITIZEN.

The FBI called in the NYPD and an ESU team attempted to negotiate with the man until Mayor Adams arrived later in the afternoon. The man eventually surrendered after hours of non-compliance.
