The Weekly Notable Startup Funding Report takes us on a trip across various ecosystems in the US, highlighting some of the notable funding activity in the various markets that we track. The notable startup funding rounds for the week ending 3/29/25 featuring funding details for Cape, VulnCehck, and twelve other deals representing $1.57B in new funding that you need to know about.

Underdog Fantasy – $70.0M

Brooklyn-based Underdog Fantasy is an online daily fantasy sports platform that allows users to participate in Pick’em games and esports projections. Founded by Brandon Stakenborg and Jeremy Levine in 2020, Underdog Fantasy has now raised a total of $115.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Spark Capital.

HeartFlow – $98.0M

Mountain View-based HeartFlow is a medical technology company that provides various methods of diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Founded by Charles A. Taylor, Christopher K. Zarins, and John Stevens in 2010, HeartFlow has now raised a total of $782.7M in total equity funding and is backed by Bain Capital Life Sciences, Capricorn Investment Group, Fidelity, Hayfin Capital Management, HealthCor Partners, Janus Henderson Investors, Martis Capital, and and U.S. Venture Partners.

Sunday – $25.0M

Boulder-based Sunday is a subscription lawn care service that provides environmentally responsible lawn care solutions and products. Founded by Coulter Lewis and Trent Lewis in 2018, Sunday has now raised a total of $103.0M in total equity funding and is backed by S2G Investments.

Island – $250.0M

Dallas-based Island offers an enterprise browser that enhances security and productivity by integrating essential tools. Founded by Dan Amiga and Michael Fey in 2020, Island has now raised a total of $810.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Canapi Ventures, Capital One Ventures, Cisco Investments, Citi Ventures, Coatue, Cyberstarts, EDBI, Georgian, Insight Partners, Prysm Capital, Sequoia Capital, ServiceNow Ventures, and and Stripes.

Lumi AI – $3.7M

Middletown-based Lumi AI provides user-friendly analytics and AI-driven insights for sales teams. Founded by Ibrahim Ashqar and Tudor Boiangiu in 2023, Lumi AI has now raised a total of $3.7M in total equity funding and is backed by ADQ, AgFunder, Forum Ventures, and and Qora71 syndicate.

Mercury – $300.0M

San Francisco-based Mercury provides online banking solutions for startups and technology-focused businesses. Founded by Immad Akhund, Jason Zhang, and Max Tagher in 2017, Mercury has now raised a total of $452.2M in total equity funding and is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, CRV, Marathon Management Partners, Sequoia Capital, and and Spark Capital.

Allen Control Systems – $30.0M

Austin-based Allen Control Systems is a robotics defense company that develops counter-drone technology for the U.S. and its allied forces. Founded by Luke Allen, Mike Wior, and Steven Simoni in 2022, Allen Control Systems has now raised a total of $42.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Craft Ventures, Inspired Capital Partners, Jackson Moses, Rally Ventures, and and State of Wisconsin Investment Board.

Lumber – $15.5M

San Jose-based Lumber is an automated payroll, time-tracking, accounts payable, compliance, and onboarding platform for the construction industry. Founded by Manish Kumar and Shreesha Ramdas in 2023, Lumber has now raised a total of $21.0M in total equity funding and is backed by 8VC, Carbide Ventures, FirsthandVC, Foundation Capital, Sure Ventures, and and Tishman Speyer.

Plural – $6.0M

New York-based Plural offers fleet management software that deploys and operates production-ready open-source applications. Founded by Michael Guarino and Sam Weaver in 2021, Plural has now raised a total of $17.1M in total equity funding and is backed by Capital One Ventures and Primary Venture Partners.

Certiverse – $11.0M

Chicago-based Certiverse is a technology company that specializes in online certification and testing solutions. Founded by Ruben Garcia and Tyler Meadlin in 2019, Certiverse has now raised a total of $15.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Angeles Ventures, Cherryrock Capital, Chingona Ventures, Hunt Companies, Hyde Park Venture Partners, and and Zeal Capital Partners.

Nexthop AI – $110.0M

Santa Clara-based Nexthop AI provides AI infrastructure and custom networking solutions for cloud operators. Founded by Anshul Sadana in 2024, Nexthop AI has now raised a total of $110.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Battery Ventures, Emergent Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and and WestBridge Capital.

Arcade – $25.0M

San Francisco-based Arcade is an AI product creation platform that allows users to design and sell custom products. Founded by Mariam Naficy in 2017, Arcade has now raised a total of $37.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Alexa von Tobel, Anna Veronika Dorogush, April Underwood, Ashton Kutcher, Brit Morin, Christy Turlington Burns, Colin Kaepernick, David Luan, Eugenia Kuyda, Jeff Wilke, Jonathan Keidan, Karlie Kloss, Kayvon Beykpour, Kirsten Green, Laura Chau, Marissa Mayer, Reid Hoffman, Sara Beykpour, and and Sol Bier.

Fleetio – $450.0M

Birmingham-based Fleetio is a fleet maintenance management software that helps businesses manage their fleet operations and optimize maintenance workflows. Founded by Tony Summerville in 2011, Fleetio has now raised a total of $620.1M in total equity funding and is backed by Elephant and Goldman Sachs Alternatives.
