(Reuters) -The Unite Here union said on Tuesday 9,376 of U.S. hotel workers have remained on strike in seven cities, while strikes in Baltimore and Seattle have concluded.
Some 10,000 hotel workers began a multi-day strike in nine U.S. cities on Sunday after contract talks with hotel operators Marriott International (NASDAQ:), Hilton Worldwide, and Hyatt Hotels (NYSE:), stalled, the union saidon Sunday.
“Each city’s strike will last one to three days,” it said.
Major demands at the bargaining table from the workers remains higher wages, fair staffing and workloads, and the reversal of COVID-era cuts implemented by the hotel chains to safeguard costs.
