(Reuters) -Health insurer Cigna (NYSE:) Group said on Monday (NASDAQ:) it is not pursuing a combination with peer Humana (NYSE:).
Shares of Cigna rose 3.2% in premarket trading, while Humana fell nearly 3%.
Cigna said it would only consider acquisitions that are “strategically aligned, financially attractive and have a high probability to close”.
Bloomberg News had reported in October that Cigna had revived efforts to merge with the smaller rival, after abandoning the pursuit late last year.
