Ankush Sachdeva, the 31-year-old CEO and founder of ShareChat, has topped the Hurun India 2024 Under 35 List, surpassing even Isha and Akash Ambani, the children of billionaire Mukesh Ambani. Sachdeva’s success story is one of perseverance and determination, as he faced 17 failed startups before finally finding success with ShareChat. Sachdeva, an IIT Kanpur graduate, completed his B.Tech in computer science and engineering in 2015.
He interned at Microsoft in 2014 before founding ShareChat with partners Farid Ahsan and Bhanu Pratap Singh in 2015. Despite numerous setbacks, Sachdeva never gave up on his entrepreneurial dreams. ShareChat has seen tremendous growth, expanding to countries around the world, including the USA and Europe.
Sachdeva tops Hurun India list
The platform has over 500 million downloads on the Google Play Store, a testament to its popularity. Sachdeva also created Moj, India’s answer to TikTok, which has seen over 100 million downloads.
Sachdeva’s venture is now worth around Rs 50,000 crore, an impressive feat that has earned him recognition on the Hurun India 2024 Under 35 List and Forbes’ ’30 Under 30 Asia’ list in 2018. His success has even surpassed that of Isha and Akash Ambani, who rank 31st and 32nd on the Hurun list, respectively. The Hurun India ranking features 150 of India’s most promising entrepreneurs, each with business ventures valued at a minimum of $5 million.
Other notable figures on the list include Ghazal Alagh, the founder of Mamaearth, and Alakh Pandey, the creator of Physics Wallah.
