The iShares U.S. Thematic Rotation Active ETF (THRO) pulled in $3.2 billion Wednesday, increasing its total assets to $3.8 billion, according to data provided by FactSet. The inflows came as markets tumbled, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average losing 817 points amid concerns over rising Treasury yields and deficit spending.
The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) attracted $2.1 billion despite the S&P 500 falling 1.6%. The iShares 10-20 Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLH) pulled in $917.2 million as the 30-year Treasury yield touched 5.09%, its highest level since October 2023. The iShares 0-5 Year TIPS Bond ETF (STIP) gained $553.1 million.
The iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) experienced the largest outflows at $6.3 billion. The iShares U.S. Technology ETF (IYW) saw outflows of $406.1 million, while The iShares S&P 500 Growth ETF (IVW) lost $822.6 million.
U.S. fixed-income ETFs collected $1.1 billion in inflows, while international equity ETFs gained $1.4 billion. Overall, ETFs gained $2.6 billion amid worries that a new budget bill would worsen the federal deficit and keep Treasury yields elevated.
